Why am I prompted to install this thing when I click Play in the launcher after today’s patch?
Because the game depends on it
Probably a new version of anti-cheat software. Game would login and go to the hanger view without it.
It has to do with the c++ programming language and c++ visual studio some programs that utilize c++ visual studio need the c++ redistributable
I just cancelled this installation, went into the game, played a match - everything works as fine as it did yesterday.
So why would I want to install this thing at all right now??
A misleading prompt by Gaijin.
You don’t want to make November’s “Fair Play” list?
I do not understand your remark.
EDIT: There was a second patch today, really tiny,
and now this pesky installation prompt is gone.
EDIT 2: And after today’s patch it is back!
The fair play list is the list of players banned for cheats/banned mods to the game.
If you don’t have that it might make you eligible for that list.
What has this got to do with this unnecessary installation prompt?
I play Arcade battles that don’t even need anticheat bloatware.
I joined a custom battle without installing it before I came up upon this thread, how screwed is my account?
youre not gonna get banned for not updating the c++ redistributable
Alright thanks
Yeah I got this too. Rather annoying. Closed out, made no difference.
Why is Gaijin not commenting on that? It would make it easy for everyone.
They did recently make anti cheat neccesary for arcade as well. But I was just explaining what the other guy meant. You probably won’t have any issues with this.
