Micro stuttering

WT has been incredibly frustrating lately. I’ve never had any issues running it on this PC in my almost 7 years of owning it, but since last week everything has been annoying because of micro stuttering.

I would play, and very often the game would suddenly stutter and then go back to normal momentarily. I would for example make a left turn in the tank, the game would freeze, and then I would find myself completely rotated. It’s often made me miss kills, unable to react and find myself suddenly dead as well.

Here are a few examples:

It started happening 9 days ago. I thought surely it was a driver issue, so I opened Nvidia’s app and found that there was a new driver I should install so I thought that was that, but the new driver didn’t fix it.

I’ve tried reinstalling it and troubleshooting the files but neither worked. War Thunder is the only game I have where this is happening so I don’t think it’s a PC issue. I can’t properly play when I’m expecting a stutter every few seconds.

Please help… thank you in advance!

On one Mate it was due to GPU acceleration in Windows. If it’s on deactivate it, if it’s off turn it on.

How do you find it on Windows 10?

Good question, I don’t know if it exists in Win10

I found a setting called “Hardware accelerated scheduling” but turning it off didn’t help much unfortunately

Every major update the game recompiles shaders over the course of many matches I think.
After 1 week of play, the micro stutters on my end stopped entirely.
I also recommend choosing DX11 renderer if you want the most stable version of War Thunder.

It started happening to me before the major update. I did switch to DX12 after the release and now back to DX11 as you recommended, and it somehow helped a little bit, even though the issue began before the newest update. It hasn’t fully fixed itself though.
