Merkavas are Suffering give the players a Reason to play

I don’t have an 4M yet, 69k RP missing, but using the 2D at top tier paired with my 4B is not this bad. At least for RB and SB. I spawn my AML90 too and that one has great success of flying under the radar in toptier.

Annoying are people that when you spawn Israeli stuff, that they push you aside in cap area, constantly shoot at you and in some cases they push you into water. This has to stop. I don’t mind return fire for such action.

For me the Merkava works great, not matter in what tier. Best at 9.7 where the herds of light tanks spawn.

You can always make it work out, thats not the case.

The thing is even Top tier Merkava’s doesnt have proper armor because Gaijin refuse to model them properly, this situation also occurs on MK2D.

Current Merkava 4 series cant even stop 3BM42 which is a shell you can find at 9.3 or Kornet missiles, on the other hand many sources states it can withstand multiple shots from latest 125mm ammunition and Kornet missiles.

Reload is also not good compare to other top tier tanks with human loader, with ace crew you can only reach 6.4 seconds which is also another disadvantage.

There is a reason why Merkava’s are the least played top tier tanks in this game.

  • Rpm of Merkava 4 is not right either - I read a lot on the Merkava and numbers above 6 sec are not close to reality. GJ accepted, legit, sources are a problem here for this topic

You can’t feel that Merkavas really have armor at top br rb.In theory, Merkavas’ front engine should be able to block apfsds, but it obviously cannot. In combat, it is like an armor plate of about 300mm.LOL

Its funny that you mention this. Yesterday i ran accros this situation. I had a Leopard 2 PL in front of my 4B at the cap zone about 250m laser distance. He shot at me, single round and i was gone. I spawned my 2D premium and drove to the same spot, the Leo was still there and he shot at me, all fine and i returned fire, this time his gun was broken. Sadly, meanwhile a T80BWM was hanging in my six and got me killed.
My observation, my survival rate in my 2D premium at top tier is higher than with my 4B. Today I get the 4M which should be better ;-)

It is not. I frequently get over penned by 3BM42

I’ve also noticed that the Mark 3 models are significantly more durable than the Mark 4 models.

It might just be personal experience, but I die less frequently when shot. I personally believe this to be caused by the lower crew positions.

Interesting - got to try my 3B although i have not spaded this one fully. A pitty that we don’t have the 3D from the US tree. This one is my workhorse in the us tree.

The ammunition not being in the turret, smaller profile, and lower crew seem to make you harder to kill from my experience.

Could be some kind of confirmation bias though since I think the Mark 3 looks better than the 4 lol

LAHAT Missile and the 60mm Mortar was not modelled in the 4M

Due to being a brawler, if there is skill, it is possible to beat all OP tanks, just need a little buff, but it is still playable when compared to the Chally2

Meanwhile I have done a couple of battles. My 4M is not yet fully spaded but I realized already that the Trophy system works awesome.

In one situation a BMP was shooting rockets at me and the trophy system kept them away two times. Same for the stupid KA-Helos spam. Trophy worked and I got no hit by the rockets. Bear in mind you get only 3 charges per side. Trophy saved my ass several times so far.

My reload rate is 7.1sec at the moment.

I really wanted to have this tank, but I made the mistake of buying the T72AV and don’t want to spend more money$$$ — maybe in the Christmas sale. But I love the look of this tank, and if I manage to buy the Merkava 2D, I’ll make this post active. If you guys give up, these issues will never be fixed

If they refuse to buff the Merkava’s armor rating, they could at least give it the 6 APS charges per side instead of 3.

Merkava’s are forgetten in this game.

I’ve been grinding through the merkavas recently and honestly they just feel awful to play right now. i haven’t unlocked the mk.4’s yet but the mk.3’s having only 40mm of turret protection on the front and near no hull protection at all is a real killer.

constantly i’m getting destroyed by leopard 2a4’s or 2a6’s (because they always get uptiered being at 11.0) who shoot me in the upper front plate and just tear through it like paper, often one shotting me or breaking me to a point i cant fight back, then finishing the job. the engine doesn’t seem to actually stop any rounds at 11.0 either or in general like it used to, and things just completely overpen it, usually causing an ammo hit. I’ve played the challenger 2’s and the ariete’s, and honestly they feel like they are in a better position than the merkavas right now, or at least the mk.3’s. at least the ariete has some level of speed, where the merk doesnt. its slow, and has no armour to boot. hopefully the mk4’s with the composite behind the UFP might help it a bit, but im doubtful.

the worst part about the Merkavas is that when first introducted the mk4 LIC had better armor (the one they should all have) but Gaijin had to nerf it because “reason”
