I think it would be very cool to see them on merkavas

Just as to say every merkava (except for the mk1) and the namer use this method

Namer’s is already modelled, they have no excuse not to give them to Merkavas

Then I missed it on the namer
The question is if the chains actually do something

Even the Mk. Is had them.
The physics of swinging chains, even if they are all linked together as one object is computationally heavy. I’m not surprised they aren’t modelled.

They are to pre-detonate shaped charges and prevent satchel charges/grenades from being thrown under the turret bustle overhang.

I meant if they do something in game

Got pictures of the mk1 with chains ?

Well, with Gaijin… who knows…

Only the Merkava Mk1 didn’t have ball-and-socket chains; the Merkava Mk1B did.
Well, when the hell is Gaijin going to model that armor? They don’t need to model its movement; it needs to be fixed, but it needs to be able to defend against HEAT projectiles. This is a damn shame. Some tanks have their railings modeled, but the Merkavas, which have all had them since the 1B, don’t even have them in the 3D model.
And then you see this and you realize how interested the developers are in making a minimally realistic game with 3D models that are true to life.

add bounce physics to them too, i once got so furious about these balls not moving on my namer that didnt pay enough attention to the battle situation and got killed
