The Merkava Mk3 BR is currently 11.0, which is just 0.3 points lower than the Merkava Mk4, even tho its 15 years newer and much protected(literally from all sides). Merkava Mk3 armor against KE shells is almost the same as the Merkava Mk1 and there’s only a difference against CE shells in terms of protection. It’s like a tank with armor of 9.3 sitting in BR of 11.0 and its making no sense because it cant survive any kind of KE shells at it’s rank. I say change the BR of it to 10.3 or 10.7 and that would be enough. Write your opinions about it…
It’s BR is good as it is. What is this post even about? There is so much wrong with Israel’s tree (and others) and you’re complaining like a child about this stuff? Bro
M1A1 is same BR with better reload, equivalent round, and much better mobility.
Merkava Mk.3 has pretty much nothing over the M1A1 aside from the occasional turret bounce.
I think a 10.7 BR would be appropriate, a competitor to the MBT-2000 instead of a competitor to the M1A1
More reason for them to be the same BR.
M1A1 also has nothing really over the Merkava Mk3 outside the reload and a tad more mobility.
The better urban performance of Merkava is good enough to make up for the slower reload and tad less mobility.
I think 10.7 would be a good BR for the Merkava Mk.3 series of tanks, comparing them to the MBT-2000 or the Al-Khalid really shows… Not that it isn’t capable at it’s BR currently, it’s just not what I would consider competitive say for it’s shell. Who knows, maybe the Al-Khalid and MBT-2000 are simply under-BRed.
The Object 292 has more armor than the Merkava Mk3, more powerful gun(the most powerful in-game gun actually) and its sitting at BR 10.3. This is just one example. You are saying that the Merkava Mk3 is good as it is, and that I’m complaining like a child about it? did you see the armor on the other MBTs at 11.0 BR?
It is not to high!
How on earth is the 292s armor good? At its BR, yes. But def not at 11.0 or higher. The Mk3 with its M322 shell can literally upper front plate that thing. Relatively reliable I might add!
The 292 has a better shell. And that’s it!
No thermals, no reverse gear, trash reload time, the mobility isn’t great either, shitty gun handling.
How is that thing in YOUR eyes BETTER than the Mk3?
Cope harder
You really have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
the argument was on how the Merkava has worse armour than the Obj.292, you kinda just made an obvious point between the two tanks, both bolstering incredibly high power shells but with one being generally a bit worse than the other. Here’s how I would compare the two tanks.
Armour
Mk.3 < Obj.292
Reasoning: The Obj.292 carries armour that is relatively mediocre for it’s BR. It’s not bad, though I wouldn’t call it the best either.
The Mk.3’s armour is incredibly subpar within it’s BR, unable to stop shells unless they bounce off it’s turret.
Firepower
Mk.3 ~< Obj.292
Reasoning: The Obj.292 has a 152mm cannon that can fire a devastating HE round and the best APFSDS round in the game. It lacks machine guns which can at times be inconvenient. The Mk.3 has a 120mm cannon that can fire generic 120mm HEAT, an equally devastating (if not more so) HE-TF shell, and a top tier level APFSDS round. Both tanks are capable of killing anything that gets in their way. The Mk.3 also has many machine guns, including a Coax. 7.62mm gun, two roof mounted 7.62mm guns, and a gun mounted 12.7mm gun which are all quite handy when getting rid of visual or physical obstructions, or tracking enemies.
Hull Mobility
Mk.3 ~< Obj.292
Reasoning: The Obj.292 weighs 46 tons and carries a 1100hp engine, giving it a Power-to-Weight ratio of 23.9hp/t. It has a top forward speed of 70km/h and rearward speed of 11km/h.
The Mk.3 weighs 65 tons and carries a 1200hp engine, giving it a Power-to-Weight ratio of 18.5hp/t. It has a top forward speed of 60km/h and rearward speed of 26km/h.
Turret Mobility
Mk.3 > Obj.292
Reasoning: The Obj.292 has an autoloaded reload speed of 10.0 seconds. It’s turret has a horizontal traverse speed of 16.8°/s spaded, 20.4° with an upgraded crew, and 24.0°/s aced.
The Mk.3 has a manual reload speed of 7.8s with an upgraded crew, 6.8s with an upgraded crew, and 6.0s aced. It’s turret has a horizontal traverse speed of 23.8°/s spaded, 28.9°/s with an upgraded crew, and 34.0°/s aced.
Technology
Mk.3 > Obj.292
Reasoning: The Obj.292 lacks a thermal imager, something many tanks at this BR have. The Mk.3 has both a Generation 1 thermal imager for the gunner’s view and a laser warning system.
Overall, the Obj.292 has a lot of advantages over the Mk.3, especially at the BR it sits at. The Obj.292 can get to locations quicker and can somewhat rely on it’s armour to survive otherwise lethal shots. What it cannot do is back out of sticky situations or out-reload many of it’s opponents. The Mk.3 struggles more to get to locations, and has to be far more careful in engagements where an opponent is actively targeting it. It matches many NATO MBTs in reload speed, which can come in handy. Both tanks share the ability to, for the most part, instantly disable their opponents. The Obj.292 would be more prone to this as the Mk.3 is at times forced to fight in the top bracket against what a Mk.4 would have to fight, leaving it to struggle against armour stronger than it’s round can penetrate. (Not too big a deal if they know where to shoot)
Are you kidding me? using the Object 292 you only have to know how to aim. APFSDS that can penetrate almost 700mm of RHA sitting in 10.3 BR, with one of the best armor in its rank. One tank like this will come out of nowhere and no matter what you do it will penetrate you right away. What you complain about? that the Merkava Mk3 has a difference in reverse speed of 15 km/h? the Merkava Mk3 only offers good armor against CE shells and less against KE compared to Merkava Mk1B because inside it you can see that there are 2 plates of 10mm RHA while the Merkava Mk1 at least had one with 30mm and the second one with 35mm. You can easily camp behind a building with Object 292 and nothing will survive the shots of it, at least in BR 10.3 where it can even go down to 9.3.
