It doesn’t have its specific type of composite modeled so the armor is underperforming by a fair bit. It’s unfortunate but that is what this thread is supposed to talk about. Not that it seems to me that there has been much headway made on that topic recently. I don’t recall that gaijin has even mentioned the possibility of slera to be modeled.

No, it is modeled as simple external composite armor with NERA elements, which is categorically wrong. As far as i recall gaijin do not feel they have enough info to model it to a satisfactory degree, not that that has stopped them before except in cases where they really just don’t want to.
Well, do you think they should model SLERA and the catastrophic aftermath (which would kinda look cool ngl), or just make the KE modifiers higher? Bc if the first thing will it fall off sooner than the Leopard 2A5 arrowheads? If so that can reduce survivability but it can mean you can tank hits better.
Although I do tank quite a few hits (in the mk4 the mk3 not so much seeing as how much closer the composite parts are with the capsule) being the crew and actually crew compartment being overall small. It would be interesting if you had better protection but later in the match sections get frayed or fall off. It would look cool ngl.
Well that depends on how lazy they are really. The armor is segmented so that if one section is hit it doesn’t compromise the effectiveness of the entire block. So they could model it as normal NERA with a greater modifier or they could go the extra mile and model the further complexities of armor degradation. Even then some armor parts already fall of so not much would change I imagine.
Wait the cheeks do fall off? I never survive long enough or get hit enough times in the right places to ever see that I guess…
