I can find you like 15 sources between youtubers and magazines calling it the mk5.
Which thankfully they are wrong. I found it odd that the mk4 barak was suddenly called the mk5 barak (lightning) it sounds like something out of armoured warfare.

In the idf they calling it m4 barak and thats what matters
As i said youtubers and outside magazines are confusing with missinformation on this
Like that the first centurions on the idf were still called centurions and only the upgraded ones were “shot”
But ppl started to call all forms of centurions “shot”
Thats what I mean man, at least you do thankfully have the source.
yeah it always confused me as to why folks called all of them shot , when it was only the modified / upgraded ones.

Nah it’s just the news articles from there, which if you read says its a 5th generation MBT, not the MK5.
it also references the IDF site as far as im aware.

Imagine we get very different visual types of merkavas from mk1 to mk4 just to mk5 be a mk4 with a expensive helmet lmao.
I expect the mk5 to be an even more fatso boy.
First of all its not just the helmet
Second the barak is m4 not m5 its a common mistake but idf call it m4 barak

You do understand even IDF confirmed its name as “Merkava mk.4 barak”? it has “Barak” written in its turret in hebrew, if it would be an mk.5 we would clearly see alot of difference’s visually. but the only thing that changed is improved systems,Improved TROPHY, Iron Vision, ETC. and it even uses the mk.4’s model so its obvious it would be an mk.4.

Not really sure why this is even an argument.
Both Merkava Mk4 Barak and the ‘Mk5’ currently represent the same thing, being the most modern IDF operated Merkava, with the improved features people have listen above, but most notably Iron Vision, as it provides a 360 HUD and thermal for the commander, and would essentially give people the IFF system of modern NATO HMDs seen on Rafale, A-10C and EFT
I’d like to see this in game to provide Israel with another APS equipped tank, furthermore I’d like for the additional systems to be modelled, as they would be somewhat unique (only trialled on challenger 2 and bradley outside of Israel) and give the Merkavas the edge that the armour cannot provide
