In a real-world scenario, the lower section of the turret front would have a line-of-sight (LOS) thickness of nearly 600, so it ought to withstand the hit.

I know it’s naive to expect anything like that but maybe Merkava buff next update? There are quite a few leaks that mention Israel getting attention in next update. Or might be another Leo but this time it’s from Greece.

I really hope so. But I’m not gonna bet on it. It’s been an ongoing matter for merks to get an armor buff for years now. And it may never happen if they decide to just “fix it” with Leopards. Hell, even just adding the chains on the back of the turret would be nice to have
I digress though. I have high hopes for this update but we’ll just have to wait and see what the dev server holds in store
(Edit) well I guess we are cooked on ever getting a merk armor buff. Seems that other mbts (leopards) will fix the bug report on merkava armor discrepancies.

The overall battle record for the Merkava Mk4M has started to decline steadily…
If Greece is added and the player base for the Israeli tech tree grows, we might see a slight buff, similar to the one given to the Ariete’s hull…

I just want chains modeled on the back of the turret at this point bro. It’s starting to feel like even that’s too much to ask for. Shouldn’t be hard at all for gaijin to take the chains modeled on the namers and just upsize and copy/paste them to it. If we can’t get armor buff at this point currently can we just add some missing characteristics?
Nearly every merkava has these chains and none are modeled at all. Yet they put a lot in for t90m’s to have full physics and everything for theirs. I’d love for them to take just a little time to do this since we have an update that revolves around the TT a little bit with the addition of Greek sub tree.

And yet they add very recent T-series with brand new and perfectly functioning APS despite lack of modern research history amid heavy sanctions. New improved T80 was leaked recently, even in current state of toptier with constant Russia ponding there’s somehow always time for another recent Russian development with only propaganda news channels for source but snail forbid it’ll be something not red, in that case please provide a written letter from John Abrams himself, them inferior dirty capitalist couldn’t’ve went past early cold war minimal standard.

I feel like the armor of the Merkava 4 is really like paper, which doesn’t really match its 65-ton weight, I don’t get it. …

Probably because it modeled as such in game. Devs decided to treat it as if it’s just spaced armor from composites when it has almost the same thickness as Abrams but turret round. Personally i wouldn’t’ve complained about it if the turret was modeled properly and hull left to be thin, but even that is not in game. Also due to that, by proxy, Namers are crap due to having Merkava hulls, i guess it’s only when Russians use tank hulls for IFVs that they get permission to have armor.

I’m really hoping this update will at least give some chains modeled to the back of the merks turret considering this update will have some focus on the TT. Please gaijin just put some kinda effort of modeling anything correctly on Israel TT. We got namer 65 tons of air. But bmpt can be 10.3 with ridiculous amounts of protection and ammo box. (yes I know it’s changed to 11.0 bracket but it was introduced In 10.0 with very little effort to change it for a while) merk armor buff report has been accepted for years now. Still no updates as to whether or not it will be implemented. Only get vague answers of still being considered and most recent response was “no news on that at this time” this is just turning into another “let’s not fix problems by addressing it” rather it’s “best I can do is another leopard” now I don’t mind Greek sub tree, I welcome it, but when we add things to ignore things I’d rather not add it.
