If players are asking if in game mechanics are legal or not, its probably not a good idea.
Not discussing the legality or politial aspect of this in this comment, just discussing the mechanic in this forum thread.
Its my opinion that this is a bad thing, and comments asking these questions are a red flag for the devs.

the market place is so much better than a auction for sellers and buyers alike
i understand that its maybe a good idea on behalf of the devs but with a market it just feels more fair as you can set the price you want something to go for rather than hoping it will go for that

For a more serious reply, I think this mechanic is harmful for the game going forward.
A limited run of 100 in general is very alarming for such a popular game, but combined with a bidding system that runs for a week to allow players to keep bidding more and more GJN (which may be slightly abstracted, but is still real money with not insignificant value) it is a recipe for disaster.
It might be only silly cosmetics first, but it is too close to comfort to locking actual substantial content behind something that, while technically legal, is scraping the definitions of legality. Even if this is not against gambling laws, it is a system that embodies everything gambling laws want to protect people from.
I think this feature should not be added, as it would be harmful to players for no benefit. We are better off having small events instead, or at least limited time cosmetic runs with reasonable GE prices. This is too much.

There is no way that any of these aunctions still have any lot to grab at 1, 2 or even 10 GJCN after a week of people constantly outbidding eachother.
So it does not help F2P players
In fact, i’d say it makes things even worse for them when it comes to getting exclusive items

This is terrible and should not be added in anyway. It’s predatory in terms of gambling mechanics especially for players whom are children. This game has everyone from 12+. We already have the gaijin market and events, adding the crates was abit far since it is purely gambling with unrealistically low results. Adding this ontop is quite dangerous legally since kids play the game.
Absolute no from me.

I have a sinking feeling most of these will be bought out by the e-sports or skins community as they get more rewards then the average player so they can just outbid everyone and manipulate the market like some esport skins are currently.
Which is unfortunate because these would have been pretty nice to get in the lunar pack especially the profile frame.
I hope in the future this is a way to get old items back rather then limit some new items to a certain bunch.

This is such a dumb idea, and it’s very easily bottable, abusable, and I don’t want a future with this.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Gaijin started selling rare/unobtainable vehicles in limited numbers, because it’s just a free money printer for them.
