Me 262 in its proper tier

Oh you’re in that bandwagon. Pbv301 is as out of place as pumas at 2.0 lol. Or do you just want realism that suits your warped version of “historical”?

I want your Me 262 man damn

Not sure what you’re trying to say. The point is to emphasis immersion. Don’t start some braindead argument about immersion either. That’s not what this thread is about and also we are not going to get any meaningful discussion when you start the conversation with accusatory nonsense.

The top speed at SEA LEVEL (the slowest speed range of the 262) is 825kph. That number raises as you go higher. Go find a prop that goes 825 kph at sea level.

Okay, so, now, that’s the point: the 6.3-6.7 is largely garbage compared to Me262, and then if it meets 5.7 its not even funny.

Yes, and the F104 against MiG-15 is highly comparable with Me262 against 5.7-6.3 props

So, how is it bad then? Speed is like MOST valuable asset of any airplane.

Early supersonic’s only strength is speed if compared to korean war planes. And they stomp on them any time of day.

Not really - the pure speed advantage looks similar at certain alts - but the main difference is a that the F-104 has an excellent gun allowing long range kills (and 2 AAMs) - the 30mm MK 108 Me 262s is compared to the Vulcan like going with a knife to a shootout - you need to get way too close in order to get something done.

Don’t get me wrong - with a plain MG 213 C as experimental armament the picture looks different - but you still have to consider that speed is just then really decisive if you are able to bring guns on target.

True.

I do advocate for 262A1a at 6.7 but the pulk 262 deserves to be 7.0 because it is simply a sidepath to the Jabo 262

It’s the same relationship the PBJs variants have, one carries a powerful slow firerate cannon and the other one just carries more guns and more firerate.

Sure, Jabo can carry bombs and less fuel but come on man, that is not a 1.0 BR difference if the “worse one” has a 50mm cannon with an airspawn at 6.0

plus they are annoyin as balls, both on my team and the enemy too because they are no real threats 90% of the time and they just fly around and die miserably in a headon or bad turn.

Literally he-162 is more deadly because it has less strict conditions to land it’s x2 20mils on you.

262 needs to pull an absurd amount of lead and practically knock on your door.

There are more balanced out jets at 6.7 that somewhat feel more trustworthy because the armament are not automatic anvil launchers powered by a pair of co2 canisters.

Do you really mind the 262 on full uptiers or simply mind the jets like F-80s or worse, La-200s (same issue of bad cannons and bad airframe but applied to 8.0 aircraft)

most stupid point ever tbh

Considering 2026 ARB meta, nah.

Excluding SEP and how much difference in top speed, yes.

Cause it’s a one-trick pony.
Turn at all, and you bleed any speed and energy you have, allowing anyone to catch up.

Why do you think Spitfires and P-51s in the war beat the Me-262s? While most were shot down while landing or leaving the airstrip. Those that were shot in the sky turned and were paid in endearment.

Once you understand how to engage it, it really becomes difficult for the Me-262.

Imho you are not wrong - but this needs clarification.

  1. These “rat patrols” late war near known jet airfields were just an ancient form of wt airfield camping - the main difference was that much more allied “players” camped (with way more patience and fuel) and the aaa bubble irl was much larger (when implemented) and covered the take-off and landing corridors. Due to superior speed (once picked up) it was the only chance for the used P-51 D variants to catch them.

  2. Regarding “real” combat losses (around 100 in total including “camping” kills): Have in mind that a large part of Me 262s that saw actual combat (estimated as ~ 300 in total) were A-2a bombers assigned to KG 54 (J) and were flown by retrained bomber pilots. They tried to make fighter pilots out of them, so whole squadrons were “retrained” to perform fighter duties; you can identify these losses by the suffix “(J)” in various loss lists - a lot of them from KG 54 (J); KG means bomber squadron/group or Kampfgeschwader .

  3. The sole purpose of a jet with superior speed is to engage and disengage at will. If you analyze the kill claims of the leading 262 pilots you find out that they mostly claimed escorting P-51s whilst rookie pilots focused on bombers.

Correct👍

Regarding the 50mm version at 6.0:

Which one is it:

…or:

Asking for a friend😎

Have a good one!

For a moment there i misread that.
For those who are more interested about the said info. Will enjoy such.

Well they didnt “beat” them much, as most of 262s were shot down at the airfield, when they didn’t have the speed yet. And when they met at the high altitude, 262s easilly dropped several B-17s or B-29s and flew away from P-51 most of the time.

And ingame you`ve yet to have to “turn” after the attack much. Especially against the target like Mustang

that the spit at 6.7 is literally worse than a 6.0 plane?
maybe a point for letting it go down in br but thats it
and fym 6.3 is garbage
may i remind you of the p51h?

do you think its funny to face any 5.7 in a 4.7
or a 4.7 in a 3.7
etc etc?

cuz it isnt even fast for its br rn

i mean firstly its also just better suited for arb fm wise and secondly its pretty damn op
but heres the catch
you NEED to play it in one super boring way or you die

The B29 never saw service in the European theater to my knowledge. The advanced gun computers would no doubt make quick work of 262s if they did see combat.

I believe there was only one flying over the UK for a little while, as a propaganda thing and to scare the Germans. But never over enemy territory.
