Given the snails love for Ctrl C - - Ctrl P, I’m sure it will appear in all three possible trees (USA, UK and China).
I would not be the least but surprised to see one of the US versions as a prem or event vehicle, likewise with Canada’s one in the UK tree.
Problem is ROC’s RF-101s were completely unarmed, so we’re about as likely to see them as we are the RF-8s (which is to say: not very likely at all)
The wing loading is crappy, but its wing shape and lift efficiency are better than the F-104A/C, which are primarily gunfighters in this game. It won’t have as good of instantaneous turn, but it will be better in sustained maneuvers.
Probably a mediocre 9.0, but the gun armed versions still should be there. The B will be less than useless (but I still want it).
all F101s should be tech tree we have enough premiums
the problem with the B is that the majority of the playerbase cannot abide cannonless aircraft in the tech tree

Have you tried the AIM-4s on the F-106? They are extremely difficult (though not impossible) to get kills with. The main weapon on that plane is the Vulcan.
Like I said, I still want to see the F-101B as long as the A or C comes as well, but even the best players are going to struggle with a worse airframe than the F-106A and no gun.

Hell no, the falloff of squadron vehicles going from good and interesting all-rounders as free alternatives to premiums to a collection of shitty unbalanceable slop planes is one of the worst things to happen to War Thunder in the last couple years
except thats not what they are they have no bonus of a premium they arent even a alternative what squadron vehicles are is basically a tech tree vehicle that you unlock without going through the tree
usually with things like SU33 for example there a upgrade or alternative of the tech tree plus its not like we cant have both
i think its fine if we add vehicles such as F117 for example that dont fit well in the tree if anything its perfect they add both as its not like its the only thing there doing for squadrons as they still add things like the JAS39D which is nice or F35 for example they do both
they work basically as AIM-9Bs if not better at hitting slow targets like stalling targets or oblivious it will work itll just take skill is all like the Sea vixen
the problem with AIM-4s on the 106 is the low speed of the super falcon, it will only reach around mach 1.53 from a stationary launch, the regular falcons on the F-101B and F-102 however, will reach mach 2.1-2.2 under similar conditions, they are not going to be inherently worse and may end up being more effective overall for the needs of the game
A significant speed increase for the AIM-4D would definitely help.
Sea Vixen isn’t a great comparison though… the Red Tops have massive warheads and a proxy fuse.
Don’t get me wrong… if F-101B is added, I’ll play it… I just hope we get a cannon armed version too because I think the F-101B will be an extremely high skill floor vehicle. Unless it also gets Genies, that is!
