McDonnell Douglas F-4G Phantom II: The Wild Weasel

I was expecting it in this update. But it will most likely be added with the introduction of electronic warfare (EW) systems.

This aircraft is very relevant now.

+1 jamming pod

F-4G could carry most everything the late model F-4E could carry.
AIM-7E/F/M
AIM-9E/J/P/L/M
AGM-45A/B
AGM-88A
GBU-10/12/24
Mk80 series
CBU-52/87/Mk20
AGM-65A/B/D/G
ALQ-119/131/184

Would I like to see this, yes.
Would I like it in the Tech Tree, yes.
Would I like it at 11.7 Foldered in with the F-4E and F-4E/Late? Yes.

I hope for this, because it can be a really good aircraft to introduce with the new gamemode, the new armament and things like EW mechanics

+1 for extra Phantom in some folder

This would be awesome to have foldered with the F-4E.

I think this would be a great addition to have now with the addition of nuke thunder, especially with it (potentially) becoming a permanent gamemode by fall. This, along with the long overdue F-4E (late). But that one is a whole different topic. Hopefully this can come in either the next update, or the one after.

well, it would be lacking 2 of the older ARMs but it would be a F-4E late without a internal gun in Air battles, as it would be able to mount AIM-J/Ps up to AIM-9Ms as well as AIM-7Ms (most likely a gun pod or 3) as well as a targeting laser for LGBs, this could be the ideal late phantom we’ve been looking for (at least for CAS anyways)

With ARMs in the game now, they absolutely should add those older ARMs with this. They have not denied ARMs like the Shrike and STARM, and soviet planes as low as 11.0 already have ARMs, so I see no reason why they shouldn’t add them.

Actually F-4Gs never used laser guided weapons or TGPs.

they were capable of doing so though, but as they were a designated SEAD platform so it was quite rare, as the only difference between a F-4G and a F-4E late is that the F-4G replaced the internal gun with a radar hunting RWR, so it still retained that ability to do so

More than just an RWR in the nose. In fact, it was almost the entire ECM/ESM system.
RHAW, btw, Radar Homing and Warning Receiver, HARM/STARM interfacing hardware, a total of over 25 LRU’s (Line replaceable) “black boxes”, and some of the 52 antennae on the exterior.

There are even more differences, such as the addition of the ARN-101 Nav System (without LORAN integration, as F-4Gs never got that, but F-4E DMAS did), wiring and configuration for advanced ECM pods such as the ALQ-184, which the F-4E never got, software for carriage of AGM-78 and 88 ARM missiles.

In fact, the RHAW is actually STILL more capable than even the F-16’s HTS pod, which is why its full capabilities are still classified to this day. With all of this, the WSO, now EWO cockpit panel was almost fully reworked with the new displays and controls.

Along with this, and same with late F-4Es, F-4Fs, and Some Naval F-4s, was the introduction of low-smoke combustion modifications to the J79s to make them “smoke less”, but not smokeless.

Unfortunately yeah. I’m sure they’ll add that F-4E (late) any day now… lol
