The real shells would not react like the war thunder physics. It certainly is not “Bounce or Pen”, the shell would break into a dozens of pieces. Some fragments would press into and release the filler, while the other parts going bonkers.
Well, I do know this could make the modeling too complicated for potato PCs.
So, maybe just make the shell’s route change when it penetrates a sloped part of the armor?
no projectile can ignore every armor and just go straight.
War Thunder have to use simplified mechanics because not everyone has super-computer to calculate such scenarios in real time in battle. This sims take 20+ hours to simulate

This already does happen to an extent. There are times my round doesnt fully pen and some shrapnel/spall makes it through.
It might not be as common as irl though.
