The issue of Matchmaking can keep coming up. The main reason is that very often a player will experience repeated instances of being placed in a battle on a team wherein the team mates die at a really disproportional rate.
My personal name for these teams are “Dean Man’s” teams. You can see them really apparent wherein the lead scorer can have 10 Plus kills but his team still looses.
This happens for two main reasons, often in concert. Players who simply can NOT stayout of the gunsites of the opposing team and just die like dogs or team matew who have no idea that taking or loosing Zones can win or loose the game.
The worst is being a veteran player but not a really good one who watches his team mates suffer over half their number killed once in the first minute of a match.
Add to that; These players will drive around a zonal point instead of stopping to capture it.
You will see players run into another player tank, tip it up so bad it CAN"T get out of the way, only to watch the guy who did that continue to try to plow through the poor guy instead of just STOPPING and backing up a little.
These are all hallmarks of “Dean Man’s Teams”.
MATCHMAKING:
Matchmaking is simple for Arcade Ground battles. Your highest BR is the way the game “matches” you against other players. Nothing else is factored in at all!
The players “level” is not calculated in. The BR of that players TOTAL for that nationality of tank is not figured in. Nothing matters except the highest BR of the tank in your load out.
That’s it. That’s all of it The fact that it happens that most of the time you find yourself on a “Dead Man’s Team”, is pure LUCK, and in War Thunder luck is alomst always BAD.
Hopefully this clears up perceptions a bit and allows players to “take stock” of their team and make the tough decision to just Hold Down J, abandon the match and try agian.
Playing to the Death when you KNOW from the behavior of the players around you that have lost the match in the first minute is a real DOWNER.
Bailing is not the same as Rage Quitting. Bailing is a matter of not getting so mad you throw your mouse through your monitor. Rage Quitting is executing an Alt-F4 just to escape the rage.
Bail to save your sanity. Games are supposed to be fun. Not torture.
Yes I am in the process of just “dealing” with it. I have had to understand just recently that after playing War Thunder for over half a DECADE. I am just not very good at it, and at 70 yrs of age will likely DIE of Old Age before I ever achieve the skill levels of my teenaged son. (yes I got started late).
Hopefully this will be regarded as “sage advice” from an “old wise guy”.
