So today I was watching a YouTube video about premium vehicles — “should you buy them or not” — and they brought up something important. They mentioned that new players shouldn’t buy top-tier premiums because most of them don’t really know how those vehicles work or what high-tier gameplay is actually like.
I don’t remember exactly how they said it, but it got me thinking
What if Gaijin made a system to help players test a premium vehicle in an actual PvP-style match before buying it? Not the isolated test drive map we have now — that doesn’t really teach you anything about how the vehicle plays in a real match. A lot of people buy something like the M1A1 click bait , thinking it’ll be amazing, and then regret it. They either quit, or ask for refunds.
When a player wants to buy a premium vehicle, they should get the option to “Test Drive in Match
The idea
-
Clicking this button puts them into a PvP match at that vehicle’s BR
-
The player uses the vehicle in a real game scenario (capture points, combat, full map), but no SL or RP is earned
-
They can test the vehicle’s speed, armor, guns, survivability, and see if it matches their skill or playstyle
-
If they like it, cool — they buy it. If not, they move on and maybe get something better suited for them
Preventing abuse
-
Limit it to 2–4 test match drives per month
-
After the limit, players can still use the normal isolated test drive mode
-
No rewards, no stat tracking, and it doesn’t affect matchmaking
Why it is good for the game.
-
It keeps new players from rushing into top-tier without knowing what they’re doing
-
Helps avoid wasting money or regretting purchases
-
Keeps players having fun — maybe they test a high-tier tank, realize it’s not for them, and buy something else that fits better
-
Gives the player confidence in their purchase and shows Gaijin cares about long-term satisfaction, not just quick sales.
Example
Say someone sees a YouTuber showing off the M1A1 Clickbait. Instead of buying it and jumping into Rank VII with zero experience, they could test it in a PvP match. After playing it for 10 minutes, they might realize it’s not their playstyle. Now they can spend that $70-75 on a Rank III or IV vehicle that they actually enjoy.
This is my original idea but i used chatgpt to word it better and expand on my idea and i don’t know if some had made a suggestion like this before
