As the title says, neither Marder can fire its Milan missile without the commander. I have no idea if any other similar vehicle (BMP, Warrior, etc) has the same drawback. Those vehicles at least have much more potent main weapons they can still use, but as any user of the NATO 20mm guns can tell you, it seriously lacks any penetration or punch (severely under performing and ahistorical ammo, both the HVAP and especially APDS), the ATGM being its only true method of dealing damage. Is this intentional or a bug? Are any others like this?
Right, but is this just a bug or an actual in-game mechanic now? Having one crew member lost and losing access to most of your firepower is incredibly punishing.
Considering you can either operate the turret or the ATGM but not both. Its probably a mechanic “Not a Bug”. Go look on the WT issues page to see.

I was able to use the gun and ATGM just fine, but then I had my commander killed. After that, not even selecting the ATGM on its own let me use it. hm.
Yeah unfortunately the Marder doesn’t come with its “meat armor”, only the 3 man crew. So when one gets knocked out, there is no one available to man the launcher.
Selfishly bumping this. Is this an intended mechanic? Its really harsh that you lose your primary weapon, especially when Marder has such a poor gun.
Will need to test and see if this is also true for Warrior and BMP-1/2
The BMP-1 and BMP-2 ATGM’s are operated by the gunner in real life, so likely not the same as the Marder ingame.
experienced the same thing, theres no way for you to get it back unless you get on the cap and crew replenish, idk why they killed this vehicle even though it already wasnt doing very well
Oh yeah, to top that off, they didnt change anything about the bmp-2 either, sounds like bullying nato tanks again i suppose
In this case, I think it just the Marders that suffer from this. The IFV with a nearly useless gun… seriously Marders must be the most gimped IFVs in terms of armament.
