Mansyū Ki-79a ( 二式高等練習機)
The Mansyū Ki-79a is a Japanese trainer aircraft based on the modified Nakajima Ki-27 aircraft. The prototype was created in 1941, and entered service in 1942 as the Army Type 2 Advanced Trainer Model A, at least 1300 Ki-79 aircraft of all versions (single-seat Ki-79a/c and two-seat Ki-79b/d) were built. The planes served in Japan until 1945, and in other countries after the war.
History
In 1940, the Japanese Army Command correctly concluded that the Ki-27 aircraft was obsolete and did not meet the requirements of the modern battlefield. It was decided that instead of scrapping the operational Ki-27 aircraft, they should be converted into one- and two-seater training planes for army pilots. This plan was reported to the Nakajima plant, but there, due to the ramp-up of production of modern Ki-43s, it was decided to dump the project on the subordinate plants. The Mansyū plant, where Ki-27 aircraft had been produced for a long time, came to work. However, Mansyū did not have sufficient technical facilities, so he cooperated with the Army Air Force Arsenal in his project. The first prototype of the single-seat Ki-79 was ready in the summer of 1941, this aircraft was then sent to the army command for tests. Tests showed that the design of the aircraft needed to be improved, but after corrections, in January 1942 the Ki-79a aircraft entered service as the Army Type 2 Advanced Trainer Model A. Soon after, a two-seat version of the Ki-79b was created. Both of these aircraft, along with the Tachikawa Ki-55 aircraft, become the main training aircraft of the army. With the change in the war situation, cost-saving versions of the Ki-79c and Ki-79d were introduced, and later the Ki-79 planes were sent to Kamikaze units, where they tried to fight a desperate fight with the Americans. After the war, few Ki-79as were sent to Indonesia and China.

Construction description
The Mansyū Ki-79a is similar to the Nakajima Ki-27b, but there are a few main differences between them, which I will try to present here.

  1. Changed the Nakajima Ha-1b ostu engine with a take-off power of 522 kW (710 hp) to the Hitachi Ha-13A-I engine with a take-off power of 379 kW (515 hp)
  2. The cockpit cover was changed, only the glass windshield was left and the pilot’s headrest was modified.
  3. Aircraft nose lengthened by 200mm
  4. Removed one of the Type 89 rifles from the nose of the aircraft
  5. Removed wheel only covers
  6. A new 2,500mm diameter propeller is used
  7. Instead of a skid, the plane had a regular tail wheel
  8. Modified engine cover

Summary
The Mansyū Ki-79a is an interesting aircraft for Japan in War Thunder. This aircraft would be a very maneuverable low-level fighter, but it would be quite poorly armed. This aircraft would be a good introduction to the Ki-27 fighter family. I encourage you to discuss in the comments and to share your own knowledge on this subject.
Finally, I apologize for the linguistic and logical errors because unfortunately English is not my main language and I had to use google translator.
