2028 is a bit much, probably 2030 or when 5th Gen fighter are added. Yeah yeah that sound about right.
Can you link the report.
Not ready yet, it didn’t want to accept a screenshot so I couldn’t upload. I’m out now but I’ll be back home in a few hours, will post here and any relevant threads then

Zusammenfassung
Well for some reason I just cannot add the required screenshot on the bug report page, I select an image and nothing happens. Never seen this before. I’m going to add info to my old post since I can still comment, but please if you can make the report, since I just can’t for whatever reason
Crazy how poorly Gaijin treats anything thats not Russian
Manpads, tank bug reports, vehicle implementation etc etc
I’ve DM’d InterFleet to see if I could get my original report re-opened.

In the meantime, here’s a breakdown of the new evidence:
Here’s a big list of scenarios where the Chaparral (Unknown if its a MIM-72G or MIM-72E, I believe it is the E for reasons I’ll show later)
Scenario 9 is the one of interest, its against an Apache at 6.5 Kilometers (Probably) away, and with its nose 45 degrees off-aspect. So a semi side-aspect shot, like this:
Spoiler
This is a big table of all of the tests Stinger carried out. The ones that matter are these:
For scenario 9, the friendly Apache was engaged 31% (?) of the time, which resulted in a 100% hit rate, or an equal 31% chance of the Apache being killed in the scenario.
Therefore, the Stinger is missing at least 2.5 kilometers of usable lock-on range against helicopters, since in this scenario the Apache is alone and stationary. Thus, if the stinger is able to kill the target, it also must have locked the target.
Gaijin - “we know it can hit from that distance but im sorry to say, unless you show it can lock from there your shit out of luck buddy”.
FLock is also a stat measured in time. It took ~5 seconds from acquisition to lock. Rotary Wing craft hovered in place during the test so time is irrelevant
Maybe I’m wrong but look at the page8. Targets were less than 500m away.
It was a simulation not actual tests.
Fkill and hkill it’s a kills / engagements.
Barely close to 50%, including IFF failure.
Ill continue reading, but for now I haven’t see any confirmation about actual 6,5km lock
You are, refer to the scale on the right hand axis of Figure.1 on PDF Page #15
Simulated ah-64 in less than 2km….where is the 6.5km?
…
Referring to the same figure, as part of the Summer series (left hand key) of tests indicates that test point 1 was used for the Stinger Trials, which sits at ~6.5 km of simulated distance.
Alternately Scenario #9 of in Table -5 (PDF page #23) is listed as an AH-64 at 6.5km.
and is confirmed to be used against MIM-72 & FIM-92 crews in Table #6 on the following page.
Implying that you can even lock helis with Gaijin’s AMAZING helicopter IR modeling. Why, I’m lucky if I can lock a helicopter 1km away. (True story, on the cold maps during cloudy weather you will not be able to lock a heli with IR missiles until they are effectively crawling inside your colon)
Imagine being able to just spawn a LAV at match start and decimate all the Russian Helios that rush in with guns and rockets. It may take 3-4 missiles. But I mean shit I got loads lol. Then just J-out and get in your Abrams(or whatever less freedom loving nation you play) and lose no spawn points really.
All fun and games until its a KA52 or Mi28NM ,in which case only your cannon is effective at taking them out.
Oh hey yall now that i’m back from the naughty corner here’s my Stinger bug report

Stinger report has been acknowledged!

That reminds me, gimble limit for the Chaparral when?
