if it makes you feel better the aussie hornet should be worse as its an A variant with AMRAAMs (and missing the thing this upgrade was for the ASRAAM) it shouldnt have any enginge upgrades either so its pretty much DOA
Eh, it’ll be a trade off for having BOL and good CAS unlike MLU 2, additionally it still doesn’t change the fact the 1994 F-18C is still at 14.0 again it’ll be hard to take the worst hornet title away from the F-18C. Worse engines is a small change from having now way to defend accurately with radar while notching.
While the M2K is very good for A2A its basically the most boring useless addition they could’ve added and serves no real purpose appart from being a RP sink

Congrats you’ve just described the F-18C which is why we asked for the MLU 1, it had iff, new rwr, HMD, and was a domestically made hornet unlike the F-18C which many were made in the US.

Thats my main point i see, if they domt add the VT-4 then they upset an entirely different nation because of double standards which again they should stick to they’re rules as it helps them avoid a bit of the hate imo

I assume we’ll see similar things happen when we get to Poland as either a combined tree or a sub of a nation. Or Slovakia as both are the only operators of the CV90 MK.IV, not like there isnt like 10 different models of the MK.IV but i could see gaijin not adding them because x subtree is the only user. Hell the CV90120 could become exclusive to Brazil but i think they said no, same with Malaysia.
Additionally joint vehicles are all over the place, France has the Ito which they had no help in making it would be like the nation who makes the coax gun getting the tank because they sold the gun. Now asking for the CV90105 which was an actual joint vehicle but its covered by the AMX 10RC so i really dont see a need for it on my 8.x lineup for France, we have the Begleitpanzer which was a joint project but realistically sweden doesn’t need it. And we have the DF105 which should’ve always been on both trees imo.

As of now there really is no trade off at the moment as we don’t even know if Gaijin will allow using BOL with the mavs (currently it can’t).
So currently it’s the worst of the mav Hornets, as it only gets 60 countermeasures instead of 120 and has the worse flight performance.

Still has access to BOL with BRU-55 which means its better than MLU 2 which only gets 1 BRU-55 for the outer pylon for the GBU-38.
Honestly id rather take full BRU-55 with BOL or no BOL and AGM’S then only 4 JADM with BOL. Its simply too small of a loadout to get any kills.
Again its more CAS focused than the MLU 2 which next to the F-18C is still the worst CAS hornet (no CAS)
Again 4 bombs will get intercepted, 8 bombs has a better chance of getting to the target but i guess thats irrelevant
Though yes, of all the MAV hornets going with just MAVS its definitely the worst, which sucks considering those are still the better weapons for hitting ground imo.
eh over all i would say the Aussie hornet is the overall worse 14.0 hornet

Air wise still having HMD lets you notch and defend with radar. With the F-18C you cant detect K band and you have no BOL, no C-5 for long range, and no HMD meaning you can only notch without any chance to send missiles back at your attacker. Again only having a weaker engine is more usable than that imo for pure air.
Id say it might be close if it didn’t get BOL but again you have so many other vital attributes that its definitely not the worst 14.0 hornet, again if you dont see the value of being able to defend then idk what to say. Maybe you dont play air that much but given we have vehicles slinging MICA and such i like to have some way to fight back.
