What’s the replacement for the 9x? Still, I think UK should get CF-18 and US gets Australian f18 if they get added.

The SACM program has missiles from both Lockheed and Raytheon to compete for the contract. The AIM-120 is also being replaced with the AIM-260 JATM.

It will be fine it will just fall behind on range.
I mean, any 50g modern missile is an insta kill within 10km, it just depends on how dead you want the target at this point. The ASRAAMS will just be 15km instead, but then again i would rather have AMRAAM’s or meteors as i like playing at 50km and crumpling the skulls of people who think multipathing matters when the missile is coming straight down.

It doesnt matter anyway. By the time we get those, the US wont have a competitive WVR fighter. They’ll be 100% reliant on BVR combat. Maybe, just maybe the F-16 will hold out in WVR vs Typhoon, Rafale and Gripen E. But nothing else will.
There are missiles with significantly more range than that like mica IR and mica ir NG in the future, even aam5 and asraam has more range than that lol more like 40km. Iris-t will suffer the same problem
