yeah I think people heavily over estimate how good this plane is going to be, saying it should be the same br as things like the F4F ICE or the J8F is just wrong, I am curious to what they will do with the AV8B+ tho since it doesnt have the same flight performance issues of the shar and doesn’t need to scarifies the guns to bring its AMRAAMs
Pls no, i get people wanna play their glorified missile bus with amraams but i dont want to. If gaijin adds them ill be fine if they just dont touch the C and leave it at 11.0, or better yet they could add the dainish or norwegian f16 as a gap filler between 11.3 and 12.7 too bad it would be a premium. Heres to hoping they change their mind on that.
I could see it staying at 12.3, but might need a loadout buff. If evidence is found of 2/4 config. But even then, no harm in it moving down to 12.0 as well. yes it has advantages over the FA2, but the FA2 does have some advantages over the AV-8B+
eh, if the meta shifts to BVR it should be quite good, but as it stands people will still try and furball I think, there are so many dogfight addicts in this game lmao
Well the D is currently one of the best 11.3s, and would go to one of the worse 12.3+ aircraft, 12.7 if it carries 4 120s.
Then Sweden would be out a great 11.3

It was the Ja37A iirc when they showed it off. Besides who tf wants to play a vehicle at 11.0 without cms? It was understandable that people were upset.

No one is touching the C. The C did not receive full Aim-120 integration anyway. It was the D

I play the C cause i hate the Ja37D. I dont want to play 12.3 every match. I dont want to have to seap to full real control to even have a small chance against f16’s. The C is in a favorable matchmaker imo compared to my experience with the ja37D.

Yeah the D is a capable aircraft.
Why would it go to the worst 12.3? The radar is insanely powerful and accurate. Its Aim-120 datalink very advanced.
Let me put it this way. The Viggen is far more optimal for using Aim-120s than the harriers & a F4F can ever irl.

Very strong. 25km+ IR missile, that would be very hard to defeat and can even hit things behind the aircraft (with the right Datalink).
too strong for now, but hoping maybe something with major limiations like the Tornado Gr4 within the next year
its sub sonic with 4 AMRAAMs and only 60 countermeasures I highly doubt if the meta did shift to BVR that it would be any good, considering like Morvran said earlier it can see F15Cs with 8 AMRAAMs regularly and Su27SMs with 6 R77s

- More AAMs in theory 4/2 or 0/4 configs available with no guns vs the 2/2 with guns config of the AV-8B+
- More CMs (with certain loadouts)
a mini AMRAAM mostly, it’s not the most manoeuvrable IR missile out there (compared to MICA and IRST etc, more than a sidewinder though), but it’s got very good range and later blocks have DL.
Flight performance.
WVR would still be common, and its flight performance is decent… and decent’s not good enough when you’re limited to 6 missiles, an engine constantly destroying itself, and speed limits dictated by both the airframe and engine heat.
