Major Update "Seek & Destroy" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 4)

When does the dev server usually get updated? Tuesdays/Wednesdays?

I think they do Mondays too, but if not, definitely Tuesday.

It’s not a copy, different mass and motor but i haven’t read the guidance changes

T’would be nice.

But other then that as far as ive seen its a conglomeration of missles on the current dev, I just dont want the AAM-4 to end up like the AAM-3

Yes, sir! that is a completely ancient analog radar with Cassegrain antenna. not capable in the slightest of EVER using hmd.

The only thing digital is the Ts-100 signal processor.

AS you can see the Mig29 radar is rudimentary radar. That operates on the same technology as this dish below.

These attenna types are incapable of directional beam control like planar array attennas found in the F-16C & Mig-29 SMT.

The other Mig-29 & Su27 are technologically incapable of using HMD with the radar. It is physically impossible.
The HMS is only used for IR weapons such as the R-73 high off bore sight missiles & R-27ETs. The R-27T seeker was not compatible.

GJ has intentionally modelled Soviet aircraft to grossly overperform & have an unfair advantage over all nation with technology they never had.

No Soviet fighter EVER had radar HMD.

Hope so! Very eager to see the Fokker G1 cockpit. Hope they don’t overwork themselves on the weekend to get a Monday fix out. If they do though, they are fking legends.

+1, this missile burns its 136kg of fuel in less than 3 seconds, and its thrust-to-weight ratio is even less than Derby, which is quite awful. Really hope Gaijin did something to this.

Kind of a random question to ask, but have different drop tanks sizes/options for the same plane been rejected as an addition?

They’ll surely get to take days off otherwise and rotate around.

If it has been suggested then it’s probably lower priority to Gaijin.
Better add drop tanks to as many aircraft as possible, then give different options.

I can see how some would like that feature but the operational considerations that would make someone pick a smaller tank mostly isn’t there in War Thunder. I think very few aircraft can use a larger payload in game if they pick a smaller drop tank. Irl they probably want to keep weight down for shorter strips or knowing they don’t need the biggest tank because it’s just a waste if they drop it early. Those don’t really apply here.

Ah, alright
I was considering bug reporting the tanks for the F-20, since it could also use the 275 and 330 gallon ones

Always good to report omissions/inaccuracies. They might keep that info for a later date when they use.

Thx for the headsup! Changelog still not updated, will keep a look out. Thx!

And who is to say that it isn’t still wip?

I suppose it is entirely possible it’s a T-80UD copypaste right now.

It definitely isn’t what it should be at all.

Since the gun can’t aim properly it’s definitely W.I.P.

The 2A4M was pretty much just a 2A4 copy pasted (turret cheek addons weren’t modeled and it only had gen1 thermals) so I think they just copy pasted the UD for now.

Especially since in both cases only the ammunition was changed. I’m still not keen on 3BM46, awful shell for 11.3
