There is a Spanish prototype equipped with breda 20/65 and L3 with the same cannon.
Ah, very interesting
Bro was writing a masterpiece
PL-12s are inferior to AMRAAMs, completely not realistic aside(which can just be solved by a rename to SD-10), J-8F also lacks the tws mode hindering radar ID in long range combat situations. Additionally it lacks IRCCM capable missiles namely the PL-8A/Bs.
20 mins for the stream
The PL-12s will most likely perform very similar (or even exactly similar) to AIM-120s for balance reasons and simplicityโs sake
According to the PLAAF, the PL-12 is between the AIM-120B and C in effectiveness.
dev server today?
Which is unrealistic but understandable, also there is a nerfed version aka the SD10 for exports, simply renaming the current ARH to it could address the issue.
Ye
I mean, as Godvana just said, the PL-12s are regarded as being on par with the AMRAAMs of the time, so I donโt know how that would be unrealistic
Fair enough, J8F has more effective countermeasures. The rest though still stands. J8F has to lock up targets in STT while the rest donโt.
From what I know PL12 is actually a better missile than the AIM120 A variant alt least, maybe even the C. PL12 is a brand new missile by the early 21st century and it has the same designing approach of R77 or MICA that focus on maneuverability at close range. It also has a bit more delta-V that the Aim120 to allow them go a bit further and faster. This is not gonna be whatโs in the game of course, if it was similar to last playtest.
Where can I see leaks?
Dude, the devstream starts in 15 minutes
For the next time?
As someone who has played both, they have their advantages and disadvantages, but the J-8F is definitely the better performer, no question. To put it into perspective, the F-4F is 10.7 while the J-8F is 11.7.
Look at datamines or something.
