Give em the Iron Dome and after that David’s sling
Is it (or will it ever be) planned for JAS39A/C/E to receive VWS or is Swedish top tier (barring Finnish F-18s) doomed to fly in (mostly) silence unaware of any possible danger (overspeed, landing gear, airbrake still out, etc.)?
While we’re on the subject of Gripens, is it planned to fix the lack of a spherical RWR/MAW? in the JAS39E in a future update (if not this one)?
Also to add to this the Harrier VWS too?
Or atleast the options to allow VWS within the files so they can to be added in via sound mods to aircraft that are missing them?
Green? I thought the F16Cs MFDs were colored from the earliest models.
Speaking of VWS, I wish there was a setting to choose different VWS languages on the planes that have VWS
I would love to be able to understand what the Soviet/Russian and Chinese planes are trying to tell me lol
pretty easy to tell in test flight.
Pull hard, whatever they say is likely “over G”
dive too fast or near to the ground “pull up”
go too fast “overspeed”
low fuel “bingo” or whatever the russian/chinese equivalent is.
You learn the phrases over time lol
Imo the HMD matters more. The proper POBIT should get an advanced version of Thales Scorpion. Imo one of the best in the world (only color), it would be able to display hostile and allied ground units ( similar to A10C), indicated missiles launches from SAMs, RWR overlay, radar return overlay, NCTR etc…

True, you can learn them over time, but just like the crew languages, it would be way more convenient to just set the VWS to English (or Chinese/Russian, if you speak those languages) by default
F-16 MFD’s were green but from the late 1990’s during MLU programs and CCIP they started getting colour MFD’s.
Should look similar to this.

Technically not “advanced”; the Scorpion HMD is made to be customisable for the specific operator(s) to display relevant information for a specific mission profile (if needed). The Rafale’s for example could do all that and more, so not that different (would be weird for the country that made them to not have these features, no? :P)
Doesn’t really fix that but IASM by Viko Husky makes them sound a hell of a lot better.
The Patreon version is a multi-RWR system that has individual sounds per plane.
They sound incredible, especially the British Typhoon with the custom RWR, MAWS and VWS.
It’s also fully compatible with RCSM the whole game just sounds so much better.
Booooo bring back black and green. Kids these days ruining a classic :P
That looks (sounds) amazing, gonna look into that for sure
Not having the US placeholder VWS is awesome. Only shame is slight limitations like it just says “flares chaff” regardless of whether you’ve only dropped flares or chaff or both. But its funny that a modder has done what Gaijin couldnt in a year+
Several modders too (and all for the Typhoons).
Melk_Z_dek for the cockpit button lighting.
And Sean74218 for the interior HID tint.
And also Sean for actually accurate (and great looking) German Typhoon skins.
Yeah… Gaijin is getting humbled by the community when it comes to Typhoon modeling
That’s actual dedication for ya
There probably are some equally motivated and dedicated people in the dev team, but Gaijin would rather have them work on other things
Not true at all btw, integration is required on several platforms, including earlier F-16C blocks. Some come with it delivered integrated as standard, others do not. The Barak are one of these cases
These were Rafael’s loaned test beds, and other than just photo ops they had to test the missile somehow. The Barak Is were how this was done. They also tested the I-Derby and I-Derby ER in recent years.
Seeing as it hasn’t been entirely completely specified yet since this message: they said it’ll be a case by case basis for each individual vehicle. If a vehicle has a tie to a specific nation, such as their upgrade F-5S and F-16D Block-52+ being tied to Israel, they’ll likely appear in that nation. Gaijin could also do what they did with the logic on that Swiss hunter way back when, where they put a vehicle wherever they think it’s most needed.
