Major Update "Ninth Wave" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Lighter fighter lol

That Chinese Flanker and the Hornet aren’t exactly “light”

I meant ground

Ah, the Palmaria

That’s probably gonna be TT at some point

If I remember correctly the vehicles from the 2025 decal were also spread apart throughout the updates, so it’s not exactly surprising that we aren’t seeing any yet

It’s not as irrelevant as it may seem. The PL-15E’s advertised range in the same conditions is 145 km. This is less about 120 km being the missile’s range but rather about how close it is in relative performance to the PL-15E. (Statcard launch range is also based on released numbers like this for other missiles even if it may not be representative of anything and wrong regardless)

As for other specs, the only ones released were from an official AVIC post which has since been deleted. Unless an archive of it can be found (ie. on the wayback machine), it cannot be used as a source.

All we know about the missile is that it is heavier than the PL-12, with advertised kinematics that aren’t too far off from the PL-15E. All of this points to a completely new motor.

Its going to be an event, squadron or a premium. I would be highly surprised if it were TT.

I honestly don’t know which one of those options would fit the most, but I’m sure Gaijin won’t put it into the research tree lol

Eh
I could see it being TT, with the reshuffle and all that

Wheeled vehicle enjoyer are eating well with this update. Dragoon, BTR-3, Boxer, Eitan and Centauro II.

I’m lowkey excited for a bunch of these, hell maybe even for all of them.

Also something that is interesting is that the J-15T does not have the PL-12 as a modification or anything of that sort. It seems like there are provisions for future PL-10 and PL-15 modifications in the modification tree with gaps left for them in Rank II and IV respectively.

So not sure if anyone has gone over what BVVD said about the 120D…but just watching some youtube videos it sounds like his explanation of the 120D will be more accurate at long range. Sounds like it may even have less G pull then the C5 in the initial flight phase to conserve energy for long distance.

😑 Dev on monday is a kick in the pants

what about GBU-53/B StormBreaker for USA?

I believe the current AIM-120D stats are identical to the stats from the previous dev server. So I can tell you what’s different if it doesn’t change;

Battery life: 120 → 150 seconds
INS drift: 2 → 0 (GNSS/GPS)
Maximum launch angle: 55 → 180 degrees
Reworked guidance/PID at high altitudes (Think 10k meters), identical at lower altitudes

Gaijin making the same mistake that they made with the 120C-5 again with the 120D would be hilarious.

“Surely if we make the 120D even worse up close to be slightly better at range a second time it will work. Trust me bro it can’t possibly fail again.”

The Centauro II being a 5 second wheelie boy with DM53 will be nice.

If you’d like to take a look at the AIM-120D from the last dev server for yourself:

Probably going to be very powerful.

Is it just me or does the WM-21 Sólyom in-game look more like the WM-16B Budapest II?

This is the WM-16B Budapest II irl:

And this is the WM-21 Sólyom irl:

Do we think this is a mistake?

Nope here one without the “stuka” coverings
