Major Update "Line of Contact" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I’m hoping for a YF-22 or YF-12 personally. Maybe YF-23 but it’s a stretch

Don’t even bother, just use the tank’s MG

Personally I hope it comes as a TT vehicle. Maybe make it researchable but outside of the TT.

It could potentially be not terrible in GRB. If we take the latest version, the AC-130J, it has DIRCM to make it immune to a lot off missiles and carry GBU-53, AGM-176, and AGM-114 along with its EW capabilities (if added) which could definitely help deal with any other SPAA. But yeah any SPAA that uses radar or SACLOS guidance could take it out.

For DCT though I would love the L-4H Grasshopper Rosie the Rocketer. We’ve already gotten the Rosie decal and Charles Carpenter as a profile pic so we just need the actual plane to complete the collection.

Can’t the KC-130’s carry a ton of stuff too?

Actually yes. Although it seems like there are plans to remove that capability.

It will absolutely be terrible lol, no doubt about it.

ARH and saclos missiles, which are a lot.

Especially since you’ll have to get within their range to even attack them with hellfires and they’ll just easily shoot the glide bombs down.

Depends on the BR though. If it goes anywhere around 9.0 - 11.0 about 60% of SPAA in that area are IR guided which DIRCM would definitely be effective against. However currently the other SPAA would be an issue unless you could manage to outrange them with the guided weapons which like you said would run the risk of them being shot down although depending on the SPAA being attacked they might not be able to shoot them all down. If we see EW introduced then that could also help in it’s favour. But if it goes any higher in BR then yeah it would be facing SPAA that would just annihilate it.

People sometimes forget these aircraft are only used for COIN where the bigger jets are most efficient since they do not need the speed and defensive capabilities of fast jets as there is no air threat. That’s why @joshje100 mentioned the Marines are probably not going to continue their armed KC-130 program, they are shifting to a conventional war again

Funny thing is ingame, WW2 radars scan like this. So its not like gaijin doesnt have the technology

@Smin1080p_WT so with the BMPT and BMPT-72 are both barrels going to be able to fire separately or just both at once? Reason i ask is that with them irl they are meant to fire each one on its own and they load he in one while in the other they load ap

question, does enyone know where gaijin stores the flags they use for opperating cuntries in the files?

yak 23 folding mechanism for its amraams would be so cool

only because they added another strike eagle with the upgraded engines to another tree so it was a pretty clear double standard. who knows though they still might.

Regardless point still stands they added without the 229s with intention of leaving it that way
