Lol, the subtree is even more special treatment. You got a complete fabrication and it wasnt enough. You got F-15J, and best F-15C in the JM, and still wanted more European and American aircraft. You got a Gripen and it wasn’t enough. You got some of the most modern F-5’s Japan never got and it wasn’t enough. Now you get the Su-30MKM, F/A-18D, and MiG-29N but no Japan still gets such terrible treatment. The Japanese top air tech tree should be F-4’s, F-2’s and F-15’s but it isn’t because of blatant special treatment

I wouldn’t call it special treatment, if the dev’s want to add a nation without it being independent then at least for some parts of Asia Japan really only makes the most sense. I can’t imagine the uproar if these nations went to China instead and the US or Russia isn’t really in need of those exports. So like I’ve said just makes sense for Japan to have them.
Btw I just found out what’s been eating my GB I didn’t know you have get 43GB from a save game just for HoI

I understand Japan could have used some help and it does go well with some of the countries but it’s gone way past that imo. The hornet, flanker, and fulcrum were honestly pointless and just made aircraft even less unique imo. Even the Gripen C was kind of pointless since they already had the F-15JM there. They could’ve had an AAM-4B F-2/upgraded F-15 instead

Calling something pointless as that is one self judgment, for me at least it gives off a wide range of interesting items to choose from, would you go into a cafe with only a couple of things on the menu because other cafes have done the same thing ?
Well no not really, you can’t place the Gripen in the same basket as the F-15 since that like placing chicken eggs in the same box as duck eggs.

i dont think thats a good analogy for tech trees because it implies they are all competing to be as similar as possible. each tree should have unique aircraft, preferably multiple
That is true, but at the same time would you find it a bit insulting if you’re from that nation and got told no because X already exist and therefore your Y should be bard from entering even though you can only choose from a standard choice of a light tea or a heavy coffee ? It would be like having hot drinks only and no other refreshments.
there are other ways to add them though.

We’ve been through all of that and frankly have so the dev’s, as I think Japan is the best overall option considering the alternatives, an independant Thailand wouldn’t simply work, it also wouldn’t be fair to split them up while much more nicher nation’s got the spotlight and above all the criterias we’ve just mentioned I think Japan was the better choice.
Well actually they do sell coffee, I had to look that one up myself.

fair enough. Finland did actually help in some places but Hungary was largely unnecessary imo. Hungary did help a lot for top tier ground which is funny because Finland just added stuff they already had better versions of
