I’m not claiming I have proof. But you’re claiming there is no way the Su-30SM could be equipped with the Irbis-E and you’re using year old footage as “evidence”. Very strange.

Slightly better now that they reduced the weight but it gets abdolutely rinsed by the M1, Leopard 2A4s and Vickers Mk.7.
When the weight was still 42 t I found it comparable to the Challenger 1.
Im pretty sure Su30sm can use irbis even if the current ones do not. Its supposed to be able to guide R37 and idk how they’d do that without irbis tbh.
the IRBIS equipped Su-35 uses a completly different radome
the Irbis equipped Su-35 radar screen shows ±60° of electronical steering the one for the Su-30SM2 does not
the Mig-31 can guide the r-37m and it dosent use the irbis
Mig-35 can guide the r-37m and dosent use the irbis
Mig 31 uses a massive radar compared to su27 and also the R37 was designed for it specifically. They just shoehorned the R37 onto the su30sm and su35 because it was compatible with irbis and they developed a pylon for it. I have no sources btw. This is all what I’ve pieced together from talking to people and news articles.

I have yet to actually see a pylon for the R37 on the Mig35 but that’s just me. Whether its compatible or not idk.
so the missile was just magically compatible with the IRBIS and they didnt jsut integrate it into the fire controll system like any other missile

he said that the Su-30SM2 radar has double the range of the one in the Su-30SM
the N-011M has a range of 150km
2x 150km = 300km
the N-035 has a range of 400km
last time i checked 300km and 400km are different
They dont integrate them on other radars afaik because they don’t have the range to take advantage of r37. Russia doesn’t exactly have a ton of AWACS laying around to help datalink missiles.

Crazy how people are still peddling the belief that missiles are only compatible with certain radars, instead of that missiles/FCS’s can be coded to work with radars saying it’s available…
Like, R-77-1 has worked with N010M, N011M, N007AM, N035, N036 and N001VEP over the years… Yet somehow it’s clearly JUST the radar that determines compatibility with a missile.
