Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

ASM-3 can function as an ARM?

Yes, it has a composite active and passive radar seeker.

Also GPS and mid-course updates, which would probably already enough on its own to hunt SAM

I have to ask, has Gaijin taken any notice of how incredibly irritated people get when an operator nation is spread across multiple tech trees? And do they plan to ever change it to make sure any given operator nation is held to 1 tech tree?
Australians have to grind 2 full tech trees to get their vehicles, and then can’t even use them in ground rb lineups together. Canadians have to grind 3 full tech trees. And it’s not even the grind that gets us the most annoyed, it’s literally the fact we can’t use our own vehicles together in lineups.
The sub tree folders suggestion in the suggestions section would be a massive step towards making the game future ready for numerous new “minor” nations to be added.

@Smin1080p_WT any news on this issue?

since update looks like naval, can we hope for a fix soon?

Germany can get HARM

France had ARMAT

HARM could be carried by both the Tornado IDS and ECR. Here it is on a German Tornado IDS

Gajin Release the update tomorrow and my life will be yours !

oh fair enough I was under the impression it was only used on the ECR, at the very least the british tornados are probably gonna be better being able to carry 7 ALARMs compared to what looks like 2 maybe 4 HARMs if they can be mounted on the wings

found this not sure if its an ERC or IDS but i assume gaijin would give it 4 HARMs anyway

What could carry the ARMAT?
The Rafale can’t as far as I know

Mirage 2k im pretty sure same with their jaguars

speak for yourself lol i really dont feel like grinding a whole another line, training more crews, playing vehicles i dont like, all for a nation thatll get 2 vehicles per year

ARMAT has been cleared for carriage on the Mirage F.1, Mirage 2000, SEPECAT Jaguar fighters and attack aircraft and the Bréguet 1150 Atlantic maritime patrol aircraft.

These apparently

Guess you will keep your life

compared to the IDS of germany and italy does look like the Gr1 with a max of 7 ALARMs and the Gr4 with a max of 9 ALARMs are probably gonna be better then the max of 4 HARMs

will be a little silly having 6 ALARMs with 9 Brimstones on the GR4 tho

i see, i hope to see it tho

Hello Smin, could this issue please be reopened?

According to Diehl, IRIS-T and SLS are the same thing.

Hello

Firstly it needs to be re-reported and split anyway as its two seprate issues (G overload and lock distance).

Secondly this source just confirms the missiles are interchangeable with the listed systems. Not that there are no variants of the missile or that there are no differences between them. Simply they are cross compatible.

oh, neat I just assumed it was a max of 7 since the Gr1s didnt have the 2 additional AAM pylons of the Gr4

I’m not sure how you can get that interpretation. The first sentence is “IRIS-T SLS uses the original IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles”

IRIS-T SLS is just the system by which air-launched IRIS-T are launched from the ground. They are the same missile.

With respect Smin, it really doesn’t. The document explicitly says “IRIS-T SLS uses the original IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles.”
The same document refers the launcher/system as IRIS-T SLS, but not the missile, which is referred to as just the IRIS-T missile. It’s rather explicit to be completely honest.
“The IRIS-T SLS short-range surface-launched air defence missile system…”
“…IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles. IRIS-T can be…”
“More than 4000 IRIS-T missiles…”
