Also would like to mention that while the F-102 could carry the Aim-26, due to its size it could only carry exactly 1 of them and no other missiles
It better get the 250 ton warhead if it can only bring one
for the sake of WT, it would be the conventional warhead one
These can be placed at higher BR, I hope they both come with AGMs and Magics, while for lower tiers we can still have less armed variants with gunpods.
And not only Aermacchi
250 ton isn’t even all that much though. It’s the weakest they could add
What is your obsession with nuclear weapons?
The VFX are nice. Don’t get enough of those huge bright blasts in wt. I’d also like them to rework the GRB nuke effects they look a bit dated imo
That and they work really well against most targets
Plumbbob John test, firing AIR-2 from an F-89J. The only detonation of an air to air nuclear weapon. The warhead was over 6x stronger than that on the AIM-26A, and famously 5 USAF personell stood directly under the explosive to show nuclear weapons weren’t that dangerous
Lethal radius for the AIR-2 was apparently 300m, so less than a sixth of that means AIM-26A won’t be OP
Seeing as these new AA’s are all shaping up to be pretty useless at top tier, I really hope some of the custom battle mission makers out there create a euro truck simulator mode, so I can, if nothing else, larp as a big rig.
“Deliver golden eagles from Stanley to Goose Green” type missions ya know.
Don’t worry, I’m sure the new SPAA will be turbo effective against the people trying to fly CAP.
Too bad they didn’t add the FMTV SLAMRAAM
SLM might perhaps? The rest all look pretty cooked.
It’s titled DIRCM test video
I dunno. I don’t play CAS or SPAA. But I regularly try to play CAP, and doing anything other than throwing ARHs is a death sentence at top tier. I just know these new SPAA are going to make it even harder to do that.
In theory any ARH can when close enough and with LOAL on some SAM systems, can send an ARH in the direction of a heli and have it eventually gain lock right before impact
Probably incorrectly, could just be a CIRCM which is specific.
CIRCM is a DIRCM system, the C just means common since it’s standardized for most of the US Army’s helicopters
Yes, these are on Israeli UH-60s iirc
What part of “US Army Helicopters” doesn’t make sense?
Since your being so specific, Israel does not have CIRCM on its helicopters it’s a different DIRCM system made by Elbit. Infact the contract was signed only a little over 2 weeks ago
Still sounds more like luck than anything else :D
Why? It’s all round protection from the most modern IR threats, that’s the whole point
