Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I believe this is a nerf. Wider angle transmitter/receiver angles is akin to widening the seeker fov for an IR missile, just that with radar you can differentiate better between targets usually so it’s not a huge problem. Reference speed and range widths being widened, I think, means that you give the missile a larger range of speed and range (distance) values which are considered the intended target, so widening makes it easier for it to lock on the target if it changed parameters more, but also more likely to switch to an unintended target. But I am not completely sure about this one. I don’t think it has ever been clarified by a dev how the SARH/ARH mechanics work in-game.

Well anyway, these are the same values are pretty much every other ARH missile anyway, apart from the Phoenix/Fakour and MICA (which both get narrower transmitter/receiver angles).

Eh, i expect it to get fleshed out more eventually, its interesting to still see new stuff like that being worked on

Btw anyone know if we have new nation voice lines for this update by chance.

BVV_d said the F-2 would be getting it, didn’t say about anything else.

Smin what sets apart planes that can be given weapons/systems not used in service, but are compatible, and those which can not. Is it entirely just something for balance?

Yeah, it’s fine for Finnish hornet to have 1280 BOL + 120 normal CM’s, but not OK for US one to have it, or even for US one to have ATFLIR. Meanwhile Swiss hornet gets a2g weaponry and it’s no issue at all

Blatantly ignores the US hornet having a lot more CAS options than the MLU 2.

Yes America suffers

Its to make vehicles different he sorta explains it with the original 14.0 hornets and the EFT’s with their IRST

I am curious as to how they will model it because if done right it will easily be the best TGP in game by a large margin. Which honestly would be Decent compensation for Japan not having great CAS options.

Now I am waiting for the US players to whine and get it it handed to them like they did with the 229 engines on the F-15E

Okay but then why no F-2 HMD, it has provisional modifications to be compatible with them, but it’s been denied. And there’s nothing unique it’s being compared with as its its own airframe.

Couldn’t tell you, Finland didn’t get a good 14.0 because it would take away from the US. I mean the worst 14.0 hornet now is in an even worse spot lol. Id say its just gaijin being gaijin like their hate towards the type 81 for some reason

One thing I’ve found is Gaijin just wants to do their own thing. All these bug reports are there for Gaijin to use as justification when it suits them but when the details don’t, they just ignore them because at the end of the day it’s their game

Now the performance in the game is very bad, the mobility is very poor, even not as good as Sparrow

Doesn’t matter in ARB. Still no reason to not have ATFLIR too since it’s in service

I mean its why the Gripens still aren’t real, they have GBU-39 but for some reason SAAF gripen which is an MS19 has access to the MS20 they never bought or the fact all gripens use the MS17 radar instead of their correct MS specific model, or the Gripen C’s all missing their 5th pylon for bombs which has been bug reported since the Gripen C first came to the UK.

Hm, seems like i said the same thing about the prior F-18 and it didn’t do us any good. Besides MLU last i checked on dev doesn’t have ATFLIR and just LITENING II, i haven’t checked since the update earlier so it could be correct now idk, not like anyone is fonna be using the MLU 2 for CAS while missing its other weapons

Gaijin caving again on U.S. mains whining 🥀

Literally a US TGP, used by US, complaints are completely justified

There is also Swiss that have the ATFLIR.

By the way, what other CAS weapons are missing from the Finnish F-18?
