It really depends on the seeker imo. if its the same seeker as the B, then yes, if its a lot harder to defeat both kinematically and with notch/chaff then it could be a major issue as it has 10.
So far*
We have no idea if its planned for the rest but just not ready.
Yes and no. Yes it is, when you only have 2, like on the Viggen, Tornado or even Typhoon. 4 is a little better on the Gripen or Harrier, because you can spam even more, but 8? Is kinda insane.

If BOL actually get fixed? Then it becomes quite a major deal and I am also concerned that F-18s gettng 8x BOL will mean the aircraft with 2 will have to suffer because they dont want to deal with balancing the F-18
@Smin1080p_WT Sorry to ping you and ask a question like this, seeing as the Swiss F-5E has the Sergeant Fletcher 275 gallon drop tanks, is it in the dev’s plans to either add them to the other F-5Es and F-20, or at least replace their 150 gallon drop tanks with them (since it’d be more accurate)?
It’s still launched from a Hornet, which usually launch from lower altitude and with less speed (for obvious reasons), which makes that it’s missiles have less energy and are easier to kinematically defeat to begin with.
Which is fine for say F-18 vs F-15 or Typhoon with AIm-120B.
But F-18 vs J-11? Gripen C? Etc etc does change the equation a bit. Because AIm-120C5s on the F-18 fired at the same alt as say a Gripen with Aim-120B? Is probably not far off in terms of energy, but the the C5s pull more Gs and the Gripen might find itself defending against 10. Especially the F-18 might be able to do an Su-30 and just shoot down incoming AMRAAMs in a pinch
I would buy it if they would fix this hole thing,
Stealth is not working like with the F-117, and I know that the RAH-66 is not completly invisible but it doesn’t even work on range like it should, Every SAM with a Radar ingame can see that Thing even at 20km though trees.
It also misses weapons, like the AGM-114K, since the 114B wasn’t even in prodction anymore at the time the Progamm was at its peak, from the article Stingers and Hydras are confirmed as well as the better T800 engines, but also where is the RWR and Flares/Chaff, which it also had. Of couse now after the new SAMs they could give give the RAH-66 as well as the other 3 Top Tier Helis the AGM-114L, since it won’t be that OP, from what they say the Kh-38MT is also not OP so why not.
True but that is also why those planes are 13.7 instead of 14.0. As it currently is the Hornet falls in between 2 BRs. It’s too bad to really be 14.0 but it’s also too good to be 13.7.
Gaijin’s options were either to move the Su-30SM, F-15E/I, EFT and Rafale to 14.3 and leave the F/A-18C at 14.0, or give the F/A-18C better capabilities and keep it at the same BR as the others. It’s clear now which option they have in mind.
Cant give it Hellfire Longbows as a pack premium as it would then be a top tier premium instead of a high tier one, thus by Gaijins own rules cant be a pack vehicle
hmmm I wonder if we will see the JAS39C in the UK tree go down in BR as its only got the R-Darters that were already a lot worse then AIM-120As never mind C-5s
Not really an impactful buff tbh
Like, sure, you can lauch the missile on a target that is 90° off of you, but you’ll have 0 range and the missile will be incredibly easy to chaff
Ppl are focusing on the funny youtube videos of over the shoulder shot and forgetting this means the Rafale will be able to more reliably move in and out of the notch while still firing MICA’s HOBS. This is a bit more of a significant buff than ppl are giving it credit for, particularly in the hands of a good pilot.
