Leviathans refers to the new Battleships. Each a leviathan in their own right.

As the PT boat crew leave the C point and head out into the ocean, they spot the Yamoto in the horizon. One the crew members yell “Battleship spotted” before the captain replies “nay, that’s a leviathan”.
