the SLM has an effective range (proven from primary sources) of 40km horizontally.
so i see no reason to doubt that part. there are more effective systems in use by both the east and west so its not an impossible task. the HFK-KV was already capable of such distances back in the 1980-90s. it too was a CLOS + second/terminal stage IIR guided missile
I am saying purely in game wise I wouldn’t think battery is of much concern.
for longer range shots at slower overall launch speeds
I mean there is always the option of just getting a 76 sherman but I dont see the pack happening because of the RAM 3.7 is an event tank i doubt it would come as a premium
and people always Be going NUH UH so nothing ever happens its heat signature should be basically unlockable from ground unless your like within 1 to 2 miles just from how the exhaust works
i hope they add the mirror camo as it would help as black was meant for night missions and if ya didnt know you dont get those in warthunder
Ya, the event tank make it a issue(it might has been possible with a new tree, as I heard Gaijin used to add some event vehicles as TT), sadly looking at the Canadian ground, the 5.X isn’t the best area of the tree.
Could be Firefly with APDS, Skink, 76 Sherman, as our best compromise. The issue is Canadian E8s come from after the war so it hard to use them with a thematic line-up. And things like two 76s would have the US mains crying foul, and their isn’t exactly other options.
You’d have more luck with 3.X-4.X line ups but any potential pack would need things not in game yet(and some need a TT one first).
Tho, a pack like this won’t happen untill all the Host and Sub tree get their own packs or we finally get a Canadian TT or ST. But speculating a possible pack is fun.
I think Japan will probably be something like the Chi-Nu, Ho-Ni III and whatever SPAA is closest to it.
Would pre-order for a second Chi-Ri tho, not sure what else could come with that. Na-To?
edit: I just checked and the Ho-Ni III and Na-To are both .7 and 1.0 below what I thought they were. I guess its been a while since I last played Japan.
See, that is clearly a marketing lie
This is the gun in its fully locked and stowed position. As per the video your photo came from: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/AnNm2Uj_h40
When unlocked and in operation, the gun cant depress that much and raises up over the engine deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrBuzCPw6Vs&t=14s
Anything else gotten fuel dumping mechanic or is that still a F-111A only mechanic?
As per the changelog: Major Update “Leviathans” — DEV Server Changelog (30.05.2025) - server is now locked
- Fuel dumping mechanic has been added. The fuel can be ignited with the afterburner flame and has its own IR signature. The mechanic is available on the F-111A.
not even the C and F have it?
nvm, thats sad. most F-111 fuel dump videos are C’s since those were the last to go lol
Seriously. Whats the point of developing an entire new mechanic only to add it to a single aircraft and one that wont even benefit from it. The Harriers or other VTOLs could actually make full use of the fuel dumping mechanic to drop their weight down to allow for VTOL landings.
The F-111A getting it and being the only aircraft to get it just because its one of a few that show off the fuel burn trick at airshows is kinda dumb.
Would have been far better to develop fuel dumping and give it to everyone, maybe even with no visual effects and then go back and add the fuel dumping visuals + fuel burning mechanic, not the other way round.
no, the vfx are necessary
where have I seen this one before, oh wait right for the F111A with MAWS
For what?
The important part is just getting rid of excess fuel if needed. the potential benefit from WW2 heavy fighters or even bombers dropping down below 30% fuel to harriers and co being able to drop down to VTOL weight beats out any possible visuals of it.
And if developing the VFX means its limited to a single vehicle in a single nation. Then it was a bad decision.
@Smin1080p_WT Since on the updated dev notes would the C-3604 be a pre-order or a standard pack released after the update ?
it looks cool
Yeah…
