Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I’ve seen it mentioned more than a few times. I have no idea how it works nor if anyone has good enough sources for it to be reported (or if Gaijin would ever model it)

It was hoped that it could give the Typhoon some form of limited multi-target engagement if it could paint 2 targets at once, But how you would dictate a brimstone going to each would be messy

Koreans and their General Electrics, amiright???

You aren’t thinking big enough my friend, the same functionality as the IRSTs serve should apply to these TGPs.

And should definitely be the case for the F-2s FLIR pod to my understanding.

The restriction was never for “melting”, only for clearance. The “melting” was addition wear and tear on the flap surfaces from launch.

Is Sniper eyesafe?

To be honest by the time you lock you are close enough for guns if you’re anywhere close to mach and if not, many helis have MAWS that will shut off the seeker or DIRCM that will just kill lock anyway

Funnily enough, DIRCM is kinda my cheat to find a heli hiding near trees since I’ll get the notification when I hover over them

Though in fairness. Not even PIRATE can be used to guide AMRAAMs yet nor will the TGP within it automatically track the locked target like it should. Reports are in for both.

So an external A2G Tpod getting that might be a while yet

Well said TGP does have a laser rangefinder right?

Haha, yeah that is a handy trick. But yeah. Anti-heli warfare is a major problem for a possible future for adding helis to ASB

It does, but again. PIRATE also provides ranging data (actually that is somewhat modeled in game now) but still cant be used to guide an AMRAAM

Not saying Tpods shouldnt get that ability. Just saying, lets fix IRSTs first and then look at breaking (because lets face it, it will break Tpods for a while) tpods afterwards

Right, but being able to track through the notch with the “auto change” system and now being able to launch when auto changed is still an improvement the TGPs should have benefited from.

Typhoons radar can track through the notch just fine when it STT.

So I dont think ive ever had it auto swap to IR.

With how many issues are surrounding Tpods anyway. Like the fact they cant even get FLIR + Tpod to work at the same time and they have to disable any built in systems if you have an external tpod

(Tornado Gr4, Harrier Gr7/T10, Rafale, Typhoon, etc)

I think they need to overhaul their code before trying to pull soemthing off like making Tpods double as IRST

irl since the baz meshupar never got its radar updated it would be nice if gaijin moddeled it like it is irl, giving it spice 1000 and 2000, updating its cockpit with what is acctualy is irl, giving it acsess to python 4 and aim120B replacing the aim120 a it uses now. also with the changes i mentioned its br dropped to 13.0 -13.3

I would agree with you. Top tier compression is really bad at the moment. For example why play the 2a5, 2a6 or pso when the 2a7 exists.

f5’s, phantoms and f104’s vs aim9x and slamrams is crazy

Spyder aio only runs I Derby SR/ER. Why was only Derby got?

Either give it Python 4 and keep it at 13.7 or leave it as is capabilities wise and move it to 13.3.

It shouldn’t be both at the same time.

Its a placeholder
Also im not sure i derby will have a diffrance in the game cuz gaijin doesnt model ecm/jamming (if it will be harder to notch then it will make a diffrance)

We got r77-1
We got 120c-5 (even for ef2k wth?)
I think we should get derby er as well

The Typhoon has the most underperforming radar at top tier. It needs something to keep up.

Not sure on the 17 as the LMUR requires additional antenna to guide it.

Yes LMUR isnt fully fire and forget, for stationary targets…yes for moving targets the gunner manually guides it.
