the new spaas are still within expectation, the none escape zone is around 10km, so time changed back to when you need to stay away, fire and escape in maybe 15km away.
just be more careful about the non warning IR missile like SLM, it may catch up secretly.

Yes there is, but X is commonly associated with I, as it is the only one covering I, and Ku is with J, as it covers most of it.
No. When you do that, the missile goes for a very long vertical climb, and does a giant arc, making that tactic less than ideal.
the missiles always do this no matter if you are behind buildings, the climb part is a fixed program.
the problems, if the building too high, it will block the missile, too low, it can’t hide you
Keep in mind though, the F-5 is a dogfighter. You only get 2x missiles and possibly nothing else, which doesn’t entirely seem fun. I could see Gaijin fudging guns onto it, seeing as they’ve done the same with a lot of other planes lol.

No. If it is behind a tall building, it does not behave in a way you would expect it. It will do a vertical climb no matter where the target is, then it will do a giant arc in vertical, and only after that it will start behaving like it does when launcher is not obstructed.

I dunno, that’s basically how you fly the Lightning. I don’t see the reason behind adding it if they’re just going to give it guns anyway. Might as well just add another F-5E or whatever instead.
Still too many unknowns to definitively call the Spyder better than the SLM.
When a launcher is hidden behind a building, the missile does not behave as it should.

To be frank here, the missile needs connection to the launcher, as the antenne on it provides DL data
However it is also said that the missile does not need LOS, so i dunno.

fair point, but if this was taken into account in game the missile shouldn’t fire at all, no ?
I’m not too familiar with the signal sent by that antennae, but i suppose it could also go through several trees and 1 or 2 buildings before fading out.
One scenario that could be done is placing the launcher behind a building relative to the enemy : the launcher doesn’t have LOS to its target, but the radar does, and the radar vehicle also has direct LOS to the launcher, and vice versa.
if it still behaves weird, it means it’s a matter of the seeker activating too early and being confused by the building, instead of relying on DL
The only other F-5E that’d be justifiable for the US TT (aside from the F-5N) would be the Tiger IV demonstrator, and there’s not enough info on its cockpit displays or modified APG-66 as of right now. With the F-5N, there’s more than enough info on it, on top of having a rather unique place in US history. Plus, I could see the F-5N acting sort-of as a parallel to the F-5T SCU within the US TT)
At the current moment however, I feel like we won’t see the F-5N for awhile. If the US is getting the F-106 this patch, that makes two higher-tier aircraft (including the Comanche) for an update taking place after another patch where the US got three top tier aircraft. If it does get added this patch, though, then it’ll be a pleasant surprise.
