i mean considering the size difference between the 2 and the fact that the left one is 87kg, it seems to be in the ballpark of 110-120kg.

So huh, same weight as a MICA basically, or a little bit more

Considering the missile came a bit before MICA and is optimized for ground launches, and considering said MICA in its 2020s variant (MICA NG) can reach 40km from the ground, i think the SLM range seems reasonable ?

Same goes for CAMM, the smallest one weights 99kg (a little lighter) and is said to reach “more than 25km”

The SWIP and A-4M are basically a meme even to the devs themselves.
Idk it just feels extremely bad to not have them, even though they could be balanced in an ok way nowadays

Not realy. The dev stream will likely show the spyder aio, which likely will perform even better then the iris-t slm since it doesnt need to deal with multiple vehicles.
Germany isnt the only one with such strong performance.

You are comparing to amraams yes, but doesnt mean you do that cause you are an US player.
You are very clearly in the chinese ballpark and they are known to be specialy about stuff like that

You the whole time already fought the release pf the iris-t slm and claimed how its kot coming with 40km missles. Just for gajin to already state that in the dev blog.

yeah, I never doubt the 40km range. But in game environment facing high mobility planes is not like shooting glide bombs, it may get closer to ensure a plane kill.

what influences range, missile ballistic, effective range and max rang.
since you mentioned Derby-er, it’s a 160mm x 3620mm missile, do you think it will get same performance(especially energy level) as SLM?

I admit being amateur, because real expert can count from the rocket’s length, with fuel density, get the possible total impulse of the missile, not a roughly guess like I made

He yes for sure, probably 20-30 km would be my guess, more likely around 20 considering the flight models we have in war thunder

Theres some weight claims of 140 kg for the SLM missile, if you go digging maybe you can find a source.

Still too many unknowns to say that the Spyder AIO will be better.

  • Will it be the version with 8 launchers? If not it will be weak as hell.
  • most importantly, how will multipathing work for ground launched ARH missiles? This can make or break these vehicles.
