My experience with the Magic 2 so far has been that they are very hit or miss when it comes to their IRCCM. However, even if my experience is just an outlier and the IRCCM is better than what my experience suggests, the Magic 2 still is worse than the R-73 and AIM-9M.

Are they planning to add the AIM-120C-5 to the JAS39C? It’s only got 4 x ARH missiles. Lowest number of ARH at 13.7. This would definitely be a prime candidate for an upgrade.

R-73, easily. AIM-9M is also better than the Magic 2 due to its range and the R-23T, R-24T and R-27T/ET get an honorable mention for being long range.
i guess it just comes down to how you play. if you like keeping some distance the 9m, aam3, etc will be better, if you dont mind shoving yourself into someones mouth the r73, magic, pl8 and stuff like that will be better

The Magic II is definitely one of the easiest and most consistent IR missiles to use at top tier.
I have used Magic II, R-73 and AIM-9M. I would take Magic II over the others any day of the week.

It’s not, the C-3 and C-4 have the CW fins meaning lower drag (and G-pull presumably) while the C-2 only has the new seeker. The C-5 however has a new motor, which paired with the CW fins means incredible range.
For me, its still 13.7 on dev server.
i have honestly almost never seen most of the people here just agree on something like the C-5 being a bad idea. for once we can just agree on sm lmao
