I guess so.
Launching beyond TRACK lock range wasn’t an issue for IR AGMs even before this update.
Mate, I fricken love having to look for spots where my SAM can actually engage aircraft, but also doesn’t instantly get sniped by some MBT across the map.
Maps like Advance to Rhine and Sweden are even more fun :)))
Fair
They will ruin GRB just like they did with ARB, where newer content just becomes unplayable as the maps and core gameplay features don’t get upgraded as well.
What you mean? CQC maps with unprotected spawn areas are great for MBTs!
Similarly maps surrounded by mountains and lots of natural cover and maps with high buildings everywhere are obviously optimal for SPAAs/SAMs!
And don’t even get me started on how amazing the ARB maps and mechanics that were designed for WW2 planes and early jets are for modern aircraft.
Depending on who you ask, this has already happened many moons ago.
Those fish bowl maps definitely helped AAs succeed in the past, right ?
CAS could just fire their FnF weapons and dive down, while AA’s SACLOS missiles would be defeated by the lack of LoS.
This is probably an optimal gameplay loop for Gaijin, as CAS cost like 10x more SP and should dominate.
It’s getting worse over the years, of course. Maps/modes not changing while getting more and more capable ground and air vehicles is a recipe for disaster. AAs getting bigger and bigger is just icing on the cake.
It would be more like 30% reduction on realistic range, rather than idealistic range, which the 40km pretty much is. Assuming that the target is sort of 3km alt maneuvring away from launcher, it is not totally unbelievable for it to have a sort of 60-70% reduction from ideal range. Although isn’t the SLM actually just a SLS anyway in terms of modelling?
Well assuming the below ranges hold true, and depending on how early & hard the maneuvering occurs, is. Effective range does decrease significantly, let alone with WT’s maneuver limits being as high as they are. The NEZ for Surface launch conditions really won’t be far.
It is even smaller as the SLM has weird loft.
U can have a K9 for sure.
Reminds me of these
ww2 targeting pod
I just noticed- no MBTs had new detailed modules or turret baskets on the Dev Server…
When people rightfully said that implementing these ONLY to the Abrams and Leopards was unfair, they claimed that they were going to implement more update after update… but it appears the Leopard and Abrams tanks are going to be needing to be in a disadvantage for yet another 3 months.
No MBTs receiving detailed modules, no aircraft ejection seat animation retrofitting, no old ships getting radar aswell… That’s the stuff i look the most forward to
Apparently, with the absurd random RNG damage and bounces, they don’t have enough to make a satisfactory artificial balance for them, so they move on to something more original, putting a disadvantage that many tanks should have, only for a few tanks.
well at 12.0 youd only face it in a full uptier like whatts a f104G supposed to do against it with AIM-9E as a stock missile not to mention R24R not being picked up on RWR
I would like to remind people that one of the vehicles that was the major reasons behind the new modules (2S38) only really got buffed from them.
Most other vehicles dont really get affected by it or they are worse to play
Thank you for describing BR compression to me.
The R-24R (or any othet SARH missile) doesn’t trigger the RWR, because these missiles don’t have radars. The planes radars trigger the RWR, IF their RWR is able to detect the band used by the opponents radar. (I don’t know why you are worried about the R-24R anyways, as the MLs have R-24Ts and IRST)
Certain planes can detect the MiG-23MLs radar, others cannot, that’s not a BR thing.
Again, the F-104G would still meet MiG-23MLs, a BR raise for the MLs would just punish the MLs, most (if not all) 10.7 and 11.0 planes already fought MLs before the big BR changes that raised the F-4Js to 12.0 and the MLs to 11.7. Compared to the Phantoms, Mirage F1s and the Tornado F.3/ADV it’s fair for the MLs to be 11.7.
The MLs weren’t particularly problematic at 11.3 before 2024s decompression and at 11.7 they still aren’t problematic.
All F-2 will be Strike Aircraft right?
