This isn’t an issue of the Su-30SM, which does play a role in the bigger issue, but the issue is in the Kh-38MT. It’s an IR guided AGM with far too much range that has come under scrutiny for being paper, Gaijin initially doubling down and giving it to the Su-30SM and Su-34, which are a strike aircraft and fighter respectively, thus not effecting eachother’s SP cost, is the major issue. Gaijin refuses to remove it, but rather chooses to give an already fake missile things it never had.
“Forum’s Gaslight” is commonly where bug fixes come from, and even then ingame stats will shoe you just how much the Kh-38MT overperforms. The Su-30SM might not do well in ARB, but it is disgusting in ground
(Sorry if you were using sarcasm and I just completely overlooked it, I’m horrible at picking up on tone in text)
My god… Why?! This is so unfair now. There are literally no docs about dual mode kh38 crap, only separate versions
For anyone that doesnt know what that means - they can shoot without ANY LINE OF SIGHT AT ALL, they can shoot behind a hill literally making it LOAL.
Absolute fkn bias. FnF brimstones got rejected cuz of that but kh38 hell no. They even ignored 9k reply thread like it was nothing and proceed to buff without any proof. GJ to whoever modeled that
Since we are getting a much needed SPAA update, can someone nudge the devs to give the older SPAA their CLOS automatic guidance modes?
They should operate like SARH but u cant notch or chaff the missile, at least for rolands.
@Smin1080p_WT
Sorry to bother but youre the main man 😅
Pretty sure all Kh-38 missiles regardless of seeker head has GNSS guidance? It’s not exactly useful for the IR guided one unless the target literally sits there while it’s fired in POINT but for laser guided one yeah that’s a neat buff to have
It could perhaps be useful if it allows it to be fired in GNSS mode without having “point” lock. i.e; select area on map to fire it towards from 40+ km away and then it locks LOAL with IR if it finds a target in the selected area on it’s way there. So if that is the case it’s effectively increasing the range.
But i doubt they have added that functionality since they have denied it in the past for many other things.
If LOAL is off the table then it just makes the precision better for any IOG+GNSS portion of the flight (i think, i might be misremembering).
I think most sources i’ve seen so far mentions GNSS for all of the versions of KH38. This thread has a lot of info and sources: (The Kh-38MT may not actually exist).
Man… Its specifically listed in specs of the missile. Its called dual-mode which it LACKED on their website. They literally spit in our faces when they said LOAL FnF brimstones would be unfair and unbalanced but if its russian then its fine.
This missile already broke top tier and yet it needed this “balanced” buff
