No no no, you don’t understand how it works, you Google F-16 introduction year and then Google Su-27SM introduction year. C is just a meaningless letter, not to mention those weird block numbers, it ain’t a Minecraft after all.
The first flight of the Su-27SM was in 2002, the first flight of the F-16C blk 50 was in 1991
We don’t have the 1991 model, we have the 2006 upgrade.
su27sm has double the missiles (which are also better)
We don’t have a 2002 spec Su-27SM either afaik since 2002 was for the SM prototype. We also have the much newer engines fitted to it ingame, I forget which AL-31 they are
Ain’t no way my man thinks R-77 is better than AIM-120
That part is true, but people try to argue date of introduction for the very first f16c vs the su27sm. Capabilities of the plane never actually come up.
I hadn’t considered that, I haven’t paid attention to the argument since before they upgraded the engines.
Engine upgrade was gaijin way to “fix” the situation when US mains whined their way into F-15E getting better engines. Russian TT at that time had zero competition so they just gave SM new engines and called it a day.
Guess that works. Also just realized what you were talking about with your previous comment, that dude actually said r77’s are better than aim120’s, that has to be bait right? Or he’s never played top tier?
The F-15I got the same engines from the start and you would be complaining about it just as much as the E, also in such a huge performance disparity between 220 and 229 engines, US players were completely right in wanting to get equal performance
No one whined about F-15I tho, especially not Russia mains. Russia top tier was shafted for more than a year and only got a competitive platform with Su-30SM.
Whole issue could have been avoided by just not adding the f15i
Muh “50G pull” argument most likely. Fellas can’t comprehend how easy it is to deal with R-77.
Agreed, a 220 equipped strike eagle is still a strike eagle and would have been a better counterpart to the Su-34 it came with
Yes ppl did, it’s just largely forgotten because the F-15E was a much hotter topic and got the engines before dev server ended
just because you can kill the ai mig15 in test drive at a longer range doesn’t mean its automatically better.
the aim120’s range advantage is negated by the fact that, like any other missile, any non-afk enemy will always just notch or multipath your missile at that range. R-77 is more maneuverable so its more useful at actual useful ranges (10km) which also allows you to fire then return to the notch much faster than aim120 carriers.
I wonder why US getting yet another dominant top tier jet while everyone else has to just cope with it was such a hot topic. Still, the fact that SM got better engines only AFTER this whole ordeal shows the difference in scale of complaining.
Yeah people threw a fit, and now they just use the extra thrust to outrun arh missiles like the f104 outruns aim9b’s.
Not fun to play against, only way it’s used in sim.
Its as easy or even easier to deal with an AIM-120 on conventional scenarios than to deal with an R-77 or an R-77-1.
If you’re moving the goalposts to the AIM-120 ‘strong’ area (between 25-30km), if you’re not even kinetically attempting to evade it, it’s an abysmal skill issue.
