The problem isn’t range. The problem is that CAS aircraft air-spawn 15km away from the battlefield, which is so close they can dump all their ordinance before any missile can physically reach them in time to kill them.
Most ground maps have borders between 25km and 30km, so any weapon range beyond that is kind of meaningless, unless you get one of the very few ground maps that also happen to be used as air RB maps (which have a 90km border).
As someone who plays a lot of squadron battles (a gamemode where most aircraft are forced to ground spawn), no air spawn makes CAS much less problematic. Including the Kh-38 yeeters.
No, that’s for tank sized targets. That’s why penguin and the new missiles have a 2.5km lock range vs tanks. They are AShMs, only intended to be launched at ships.

You wouldn’t by any chance have the opportunity to nudge someone to check the suspension on the new M4A3 (76) W HVSS (Hell) and the US TT version? Since they were both still bugged on the dev server. And it’d be nice to know if it’'s known/will be fixed so as to know if to pre-order the pack or not.
Armor except bow is better for Iowa, and most important, citadel is much safer. For AP shells and ROF, I don’t think much difference between two. Explosive is not everything.
Even though it is soft stat, maximum ROF still needs evidence. For those 7.3 ships, Cavour and Strasbourg have chance fighting against Yamato. For Barham, its just Gaijin’s mistake to place it on 7.3. It’s equivalent of Marlborough and Iron duke.
You never know what happens to her turtleback, huh?
Not just the bow, Soyuz has 420mm of armor around her A & B turrets and unless something changed recently her ammunition is below the waterline. Not only that, but its ammunitions storage are offset and not directly below the turrets, making it far more awkward to hit.
This means that Soyuz will be nigh impossible to kill when angled, something that can’t be said of Iowa.
Soyuz has better RoF, explosive mass, roughly similar pen to Iowa and better muzzle velocity.
I don’t see how it can be claimed that it’s not outright better.
As far as I know no Soyuz turrets were ever fully completed, so clearly they are capable of taking some liberties.
No, no they don’t. Rodney and Mutsu/Amagi already lolpens them from pretty much every angles which makes facing them pure misery, Yamato would be even worse.
And good luck dealing with a Yamato when your shell won’t be able to pen it at all past a certain distance.
I heard it’s not as good as Scharnhorst’s because it’s not rounded which doesn’t result in a systematic autobounce.
But just because it’s worse than the most survivable BB in the game at the moment doesn’t mean it’s bad. At least most certainly not “should be 8.0” bad.
And Iowa has basically 480 mm + effectiveness protection thanks to spaced armour, and her ammo ‘around’ waterline can be emptied while Soyuz can’t. And also, her ‘actual’ DM of shell room is just below the waterline, not in the safe place.
Only 1.3 seconds faster, not a big deal
Actually, even at 10 km when showing cheek, and about at 8 km at non angled Yamato.
Much worse than that. It’s turtleback around No.1 turret is non existent and no battleship at 8.0+ have problem detonating her in 10 km.
Even if you think I’m wrong, at the very least according to datamined stats the Kh-38MT and AGM-65D/G have identical lock ranges against vehicles. Both are set to 20km.
