Major Update “Hornet's Sting” — DEV Server Changelog (10.03.2025)

In that case we can see on the video i replyed to you ( see below) that the pilots explain thay the rafale have this ability .

Same same but different)))))

So what do the new radar modes do?

I’m mainly still against it because of how only 2 of the many too tier mbts got affected. If detailed modules are going to be added, do it to all vehicles at that BR bracket so it can remain consistent.

In addition wouldn’t this also mean caruosel loaders also be counted as horizontal drives?

On your Edit i can’t find anywhere where that statment is ture, everywhere where i search it says the basket doesn’t impact the drive.

Can you provide me the source?

Did they just forget the F-14B has the AN/AXX-1 TCS?

I’ve reported the issue. I’d be grateful for any support that could be provided.

Now to see if i can wrangle one together for the TISEO on the Kurnass 2000, since the US’s F-4E isn’t equipt with it for whatever reason.

Asking for a friend, does IRST have this feature irl? AFAIK, IRST can’t guide a missile unless it’s an optical-guided which is common in SAM.

IRST is merely tracking system. Assuming datalink is done by radar dish, then “IRST” guiding ARH missile should work, but it also would break radio silence, as radar would emit on whatever bandwidth datalink operates.

Great change!

Why? We were this close to greatness.

Probably not even worth it since Kurnass 2000 doesn’t have Sparrows anymore. But would make slaving IRs possible through a notch.

Not likely. Datalink is generally not picked up by RWRs.

F14 system is mechanical it had no limiter

It can. For a SARH it will just keep the radar emitting and slaves to the IRST target.

For an ARH, it will update the track file same as a radar would and send it to the missile through datalink.

will F14B get aim-7P

Wonder if the this source stating AN/AAS-38B has IRST capabilites is good enough to get it added to the relevant F/A-18’s?

AAS-38B. This variant adds a laser spot tracker, air-to air infrared search and track (IRST), and scene track capabilities to the AAS-38 system. The IRST is a major addition to the FLIR system, intended to provide the E/F versions of the Hornet with long-range target detection and tracking capabilities

I mean if the rest of the -Teen series had their period appropriate TGPs with A2A modes, they should also have this capability.

Edit: also that source mentions a major structural change to accommodate the E/F Superhornets. So will probably need to also show the 38B was used on C/D aircraft as well.

There was a bug report for this but it seems to have either been mishandled or is broken again.

Currently the camera just doesn’t do anything when a target is locked on the radar.

It’s also an issue with other aircraft like the British and Italian Typhoons that have PIRATE however with how little attention the Typhoon reports get I doubt it will be fixed any time soon.

Also found supporting evidence for A2A for the ATFLIR & A+ / -C /-E

Is the ATFLIR even in game yet?
