An update with just trainers would be peak. There’s plenty for Gaijin to chose for each nation. Some countries trainers don’t carry live weapons but I think if the live equivalent of the dummy weapon is in-game then it should be able to be added with the live weapons.
Spoiler
US could get something like the T-38, T-45, T-7a or the T-6.
Germany could get the IA-63 or the Tucanos from Argentina but they already have the Alpha Jet.
USSR could get the Yak-130, or Czech L-159, L-29, L-39.
UK could get get a bunch of Hawks, T.1A/100/200 at different BR’s or possibly the Dart Jet but there’s not a lot known about it yet.
Japan could get a T-4 or even a T-6. Could even get some Hawks from subtrees.
China could get the JL-8, JL-9, JL-10 or get the AT-3 or the T-5 from Taiwan
Italy could get a M-345 or MB.339. Could also get the IAR 99 from Romania.
France, not sure what they could get but they already have an Alpha Jet.
Sweden could get a Hawk through Finland.
Israel could get the M-346 Lavi they bought from Italy.
But honestly they missed out on adding a bunch of trainers in Alpha Strike to come alongside the two aircraft the update was named after.
The US uses dummy weapons on it’s trainers but most likely the live weapon equivalents would be able to be used on them too if they were needed. I think they could be added with the live version of the dummy weapons within reason.
Like just because they put polystyrene AIM-120 onto a T-6 Texan and tell the pilots to pretend to fire it doesn’t mean it should be added, but if they used inert 500lb bombs for training then realistically if added to the game they could get the live version of that bomb.
I mean, the AT-6 actually is meant to also be an attack aircraft and both the T-38 (AT-38B in this case) and T-45 can be armed and have been used for weapons training
