You do have a higher top speed and 8x AMRAAM. Use them. Stick at range, or make fast hack and slash attacks. If you try and gunfight a Typhoon, then you’ve already lost.

thanks ive fought them but the typhoon and rafale and J10 are just cracked so i dont understand how to win in 1v1s anymore so ill keep this in mind
Wrong. 9M can literally be beaten by flying straight and staying in afterburner when it’s launched rear aspect.

Incorrect. Unlike the gatewidth IRCCM missiles, the 9M will be able to see flares until it is nearly flying up the exhaust.
You could just play F-15E, one of the strongest aircraft ingame.
Plenty of fun to be had there.
Eh… I’d say Magic II are harder to defeat than Aim-9M when fired at close range, but Magic IIs will go for flares when fired at longer ranges, whilst Aim-9Ms IRCCM will be equally effective regardless of range. But… with the right tactic can be defeated equally easily at any range.
Which is better really comes down to context. They are different, but to say which is “better” changes rapidly

Sometimes it will. but ive had 9ms ignore BOL pods worth of flares and wack a target from 3km

when your target fires in excess of 50 of them while I’m trying to get a lock and my 9m still hits I cant complain about 9m
idk some times BOL works some times it doesnt my only experince with them is on the tomcat which is a hot plane

It depends on what kind of targets, the engine power directly impact the missile chasing ability, you can easily find that most of time F14B’s BOL doesn’t work, but not for JAS39
this has worked on AV8s su27s eurofighters and F16s. sometimes it is just unflarable

These engines are pretty hot and powerful too, also it depends on the flying status, flares needs to 100% cover the engine or fast enough to escape the lock range to make sure the missiles won’t choose the engine as the hottest target, for long range targets, it is hard than magic2 or pl5e2

Yeah they’re pretty sad planes now, but GR1 was probably the most overpowered plane in WT History when it first arrived lol.
If I recall correctly, they had to bump its BR up literally a day or two after the update, then it went up again a couple weeks later.
