cause its slower an less maneuverable
Wouldn’t make sense for neither of those to go into the naval fighter line.
From a quick look I couldn’t find a velocity for the ASM-2, but the ASM-1 is mach 0.9 while the ASM-3 is mach 3+.
The range is 50km for ASM-1, 170km for ASM-2 and 200km+ for ASM-3.
The warhead size for the ASM-1 is 150kg, the ASM-2 is unknown to me, but the missile is lighter, so the warhead would likely be smaller too and the ASM-3 is heavier again, but again, warhead unknown to me
Yep, so the value might just be the fact the missiles are faster. Which is largely irrelevant for PvE but could be of value if we ever have use for them in PvP (Naval CAS)
If the warhead changes, then that could also hold value (lighter could also just mean a different type of warhead)
sounds fair but i guess i wont to get to enjoy the %10 bonus rp from OP f15e and instead have to use the F-14B
It be like that sometimes.
According to the suggestion for it
“The warhead was made of a new explosive material, i.e. an explosive charge based on a PBX with excellent LOVA properties. In addition, thanks to the change of the engine, it was possible to increase the weight of the warhead to 225 kg.”
F-18 is not an air force bomber/strike aircraft.
And F-18C is a fighter.
The F/A-18C is as much an attacker as a fighter, there’s a reason it has the designation it does
I was mostly talking about how antiship missiles on F-2 are the best Japan will get until GBU-53 inside F-35As, but yes
My bad
the only reason a hornet would be an attacker ingame is if the F/A-18D was added as an attacker, or the EA-18G. The F/A-18D was used in dedicated Night Attack squadrons in USMC, with the squadron designator VMFA(AW). The AW means “All Weather.”
I’d love this because I think twin seat modern fighter jets look absolutely awesome, and it’d historically make sense. F/A-18C a fighter, F/A-18D an attacker. F/A-18E/F fighters, EA-18G an attacker.
@Fireraid233 you’re right, I just forgot to mention the mach 3 missile.
Ive never seen twr on the stat card before… new feature incoming? Before someone responds and says its probably fake i know i just never noticed a twr…
I dont really care so long as i get true cold war heavies to gawk at in the hanger tbh
The Legacy Hornet was the strike fighter of choice for the navy, it replaced most of their strike aircraft, bar the A-6, most of its operations during the Gulf War were strike oriented, even for the 2 air kills it got they were on a bombing mission, it is a strike aircraft, there is a reason it has the F/A prefix, it’s not just a fighter
This is true, though I would hope they would be usable elsewhere still though and that the existance of a PvE bomber gamemode wouldnt replace a PvE overhaul for ASB
No if we get the 2 seat versions of aircraft and they offer no improvements over the single seat versions they should be foldered. Like the D Hornet and F Super Hornet should be foldered with the C and E respectively.
or premiums
What is the best SEAD Aircraft? The F-16C, The F-18 growler, The F-15E or some other non american design?
