Major Update "Heavy Cavalry" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Still could get the variant before they were replaced

Looks like crying for no reason tankers finally achieved something

Back when the AH-64E was being added Smin stated this, Poland will probably become a tech tree one way or another

Yes, because these ground based ones can launch from spawn to spawn as soon as the game starts with 0 counterplay.

Nope

yes, but like i said hellfires , rocket pods.
Its an armed reconnaissance helicopter ARH

What you mean by that? Top BR helicopters with MITL that can launch without ever having to show themselves breaks the game almost immediately with no counter since SAMs cant even have LOS to take it down, and the only way is to spawn into a plane with also a non-zero chance of being shot down right back.

honestly. doubt they perform all to well, angle missing and so on, will be lots of crits if anything

so do they even have MITL in reality?

Single missile means NO threat at all and will be intercepted by any 70 IQ SPAA.

The ability to fire 16 missiles at once was a strength of top tier helis. The ability to fire one missile was practically useless.

Some maps you can shoot spawn to spawn with tanks anyway

u have no idea do you? you can fire MITL, find a target lock ir/TV then fire the next MITL,

You dont have to fly MITL the whole time

I haven’t really looked into it.

However iirc the US also tested Spikes on some of their apaches, so they should be good either way.

What dotSHINI said, you can just MITL the first missile, lock on to a target, then fire another, MITL that missile, and repeat for all 16 missiles before landing and redoing again, all without having to show up on radar ONCE.

for the sake of completions sake, do longbow hellfires have MITL?

Great! Now I can fire one missile every 20-30 seconds. The missile will be intercepted.
Why do I need that when I can fire 16 missiles at 2-3 targets?
All targets will be destroyed. No SPAA can intercept all 16 missiles, and then 30 seconds later, I will repeat over and over and over again.

Hi, Smin, just curious if flight characteristics of these missiles will roll back from dev server to 2.55

Are you even reading or are you just yapping for the sake of yapping? You can fire each missiles at any given time and MITL the last missile you launched, which means u can still ripple 16 missiles, nobody is saying you have to guide each and every single missile, because you dont.

And if you don’t like MITL, it doesnt change anything with how it currently works, you can still ripple fire all 16 missiles and land, nothing has changed. MITL just makes it 10 times worse for SAMs.

Why worse for SAMs you might ask? Well, because like I said above, you don’t even need to pop up above the mountain or tree lines, you can literally just fire in the air and guide with MITL, which means you’re practically invincible until a plane spawns. Current system means you still do need to show yourself a little to be able to ripple 16 missiles at enemies meaning you still take risk at being shot at, but MITL feature removes that risk entirely.

i see it coming, we get actual artillery gameplay
And artillerys receive drones just to counter those helis

Same message to you. All 16 missiles will be intercepted, one after another
The pause between missiles will be 15-30 seconds. The only way to penetrate the SAM’s defence is to fire a salvo of multiple missiles, but MITL only works on the last one.
