Major Update "Heavy Cavalry" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

This is from DCS. It doesn’t mean anything.

^^^

The F-14D does not carry the AIM-9X and it was retired way before the AIM-174 or AMBER rack became a thing. It also never carried any AIM-120 and only one F-14A was retrofitted to test it. The game has enough fictional vehicles as is and we really do not need more.

The F-14D should only get the AIM-9M, AIM-7P and AIM-54A/C. The F-14B should also receive the AIM-9M (but cannot utilize the datalink of the AIM-7P so it doesn’t need it)

Yes, with actual documented plans for the AIM-120A integration (canceled), instead of a screenshot from the DCS forum.

In the end, it’s up to them to include it or not.

I did spam a lot about it being nerfed with DM43 instead of having DM53 until it got it!

And ever since I learned it should have spall liners but doesn’t, about that, hahahah.

F14D with AMRAAMs isn’t at all fictional it was completed until funding reduced apg71 capabilities and then later when they where choosing upgrades for the f14D they choose CAS capabilities over more air to air capability also supposedly aim9x can work on some aircraft in a reduced capability

In terms of ARMs I wonder is we are going to get the AGM - 78.

It doesn’t seem to have appeared in the teaser, but the visual model for it has been in the files before. It 's a possibility.

With ARMs coming maybe we might see dedicated SEAD aircraft like the F-105G, F-4G and that wierd one off F-16B(?) variant i forget the name of at some point.

(I am huffing copium)

what ?

oh god I just realised that the USS California will have SM2s oh god poor early jets wont stand a chance

They could have purposely nerfed it: using beam-riding guidance instead of radar guidance. It’s not the first time they have done this.

breads ?

even so i dont think the early jets will stand a chance

Maybe the earlier ones yes, F4G would be pretty powerful, but modern versions of the F16C have all the capabilities needed for SEAD ( HTS pods), we have the block 50 and 52 which fit perfectly.
