Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

And, if the 34 gets added, no AA it will face can reliably deal with it.
Best option is CAP. Good luck with that

From the South African AF website

Don’t know what any of it means

Rafael Litening III

Im guessing its gonna be a higher BR than the GR.1 but the GR.1 is gonna be better due to PGMs are currently better than Brimestones.

so in this current state there is no point in getting the GR.4

so a plane that is famous for being fat has to travel 3kms inside of a pantsirs range and try to evade while it takes 50+ seconds to hit their target? yeahhhh great fun thats gonna be

CAP that will need 800+ sp to spawn with bad US teams potentially against Pantsirs

Is there any chance for it to ever get the fire and forget mode added

The A-10C HMD shows that there is some form of ground unit IFF functionality in the game already (though that’s only relevant for mode 3 launches, not mode 2)

the new cockpit with MFDs for the back seat? really?

we surely wont get Komoran II, won’t get HARM III, won’t get Taurus and the only thing that remains are GBU-54 and perhaps some new pods

maybe a newer sidewinder and with that a high BR for little improvement

Again, I would recommend reading the blog in full. The weapon is being added in a historical state in one of its real life operating modes that would be balanced in game.

It’s not being “nerfed”. It simply wouldn’t be balanced at all in it’s other modes in game currently.

Actually you can teamkill more than that, if you just drop all the brimestones at once(similar to FAB5000).

I’m glad I’m researching the frogfoor line and done with the fencer line, is all I’m gonna say.

Yeah but the su25 sm3 is not balanced atm

Seems like Gaijin is more than happy to make up having worse MBTs by adding better CAS to said nation.

But wouldn’t it make more sense to add both Mode 1 and Mode 2?
It’s not like it’ll use the MMW radar the whole flight to target; it’s more about terminal guidance, and the battery in the missile doesn’t last forever.

With SAL being mode 1, do you know if much consideration/testing was done for mode 2?

Sparks my japanese main interest :>

our point is why not just make the FnF mode work like IR missiles that can be blocked by trees and smoke, because as it is right now, if the enemy has a pantisr these weapons are pretty much useless unless you wanna waste over half for a single pantisr because we arent allowed the wing pylons

Its funny how hard they are avoiding talking about that.
