From what I can tell, the F-35s only ever mounted chaff dispensers, and I couldn’t find anything about the experimental one being built.

They mounted flares- I actually have the manual for it myself. For the test aircraft its a bit more shaky, this is the info I have on it-

hopefully germany will get one of them, or atleast one of them not becoming anyone subtree so germany have a chance to get leo2a6ex variant with 2nd gen gunner thermal, cause looking at gaijin track record with german export model (PSO) gaijin seem to not fond of giving german export model it’s best possible modification, and afaik all 2a6ex demo still have gen 1 gunner thermal, if gaijin add it as 2a6ex it most likely will have gen 1 even tough there’s variant of it that have gen 2
